Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the stairs thereof, and measured the threshold of the gate,[ which was] one reed broad; and the other threshold[ of the gate, which was] one reed broad.

至於向東之門、登其階級、量其門閾、深深原文作廣一竿、又量一閾、深深原文作廣一竿、量其門閾深一竿又量一閾深一竿或作量內外之門閾皆深一竿

Then he went to the east gate. He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate; it was one rod deep.

Then the man went to the east gate. He climbed its steps. He measured the gateway. It was one rod wide.

Then he went into the gateway facing east, going up its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one reed deep.

Then he went over to the eastern gateway. He climbed the steps and measured the threshold of the gateway; it was 10 1/2 feet front to back.

Then he came to the gate that faced east and climbed its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate; it was 10½ feet deep— one threshold was 10½ feet deep.

Then he went to the gate which faced east, went up its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one rod in width; and the other threshold was one rod in width.

Then he went to the gateway which faced east; and he went up its stairs and measured the threshold of the gateway, which was one rod wide, and the other threshold was one rod wide.

Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the steps thereof: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold, one reed broad.

Then he came to the gate that faced east and climbed its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate; it was 10 feet deep— the first threshold was 10 feet deep.

Then he went to the gate facing east. He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate as 10½ feet deep.

Then he came to the gate which looks toward the east, and went up its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate, one reed wide; and the other threshold, one reed wide.

Afterward he brought me to the gate,[ even] the gate that looketh toward the east:

And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar,[ were] about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD’S house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

And the gate of the outward court that looked toward the north, he measured the length thereof, and the breadth thereof.

Who hitherto[ waited] in the king’s gate eastward: they[ were] porters in the companies of the children of Levi.

And[ there were] seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof[ were] before them: and it had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.

And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits[ long] by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

The door for the middle chamber[ was] in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle[ chamber], and out of the middle into the third.

And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which[ is] by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee,

And[ every] little chamber[ was] one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers[ were] five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within[ was] one reed.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of[ that] gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.

In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.

In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.

For a day in thy courts[ is] better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.

Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it[ was] shut.

After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.

Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house[ stood toward] the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south[ side] of the altar.

Now when the prince shall prepare a voluntary burnt offering or peace offerings voluntarily unto the LORD,[ one] shall then open him the gate that looketh toward the east, and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he did on the sabbath day: then he shall go forth; and after his going forth[ one] shall shut the gate.
