“你们去，站在殿里，把一切有关这生命的话，都讲给众民听。”使徒听完了，就在黎明的时候，进到殿里去教导。大祭司和他的同党来到了，就召集了公议会和以色列人的众长老，派人到监牢去带使徒出来。差役到了监里，找不到他们，回来报告说：“我们发现监门紧闭，狱卒也守在门外；等到开了门，里面连一个人也找不到。”圣殿的守卫长和祭司长听了这些话，觉得很困惑，不知道这件事将来会怎样。忽然有人来报告说：“你们押在监里的那些人，正站在殿里教导众民呢！”于是守卫长和差役去带使徒来，不过没有用暴力，因为怕众民用石头打他们。既然带来了，就叫他们站在公议会前。大祭司问他们：“我们严厉地吩咐过你们，不准再奉这名教导。看，你们却把你们的道理传遍了耶路撒冷，想要把流这人的血的责任推到我们身上。”彼得和众使徒回答：“服从神过于服从人，是应当的。

耶和华说：“你出来站在山上，在我耶和华面前。”那时，耶和华从那里经过。在耶和华面前有强烈的大风，山崩石碎，但耶和华不在风中；风过以后有地震，但耶和华也不在地震中；地震过后有火，耶和华也不在火中；火后有低微柔和的声音。以利亚听见了，就用自己的外衣蒙着脸，走出来，站在洞口。忽然有声音向他说：“以利亚啊，你在这里干什么？”

彼得和约翰回答：“听从你们过于听从神，在神面前对不对，你们自己说吧！

他们听了以后，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其余的使徒说：“弟兄们，我们应当作什么呢？”

我就照着耶和华所吩咐我的，去把腰带藏在幼发拉底河那里。过了多日，耶和华对我说：“起来，往幼发拉底河去，把我吩咐你藏在那里的腰带取出来。”于是我往幼发拉底河去，在那里挖掘，把腰带从我埋藏的地方取出来；看哪！腰带已经腐烂了，完全没用了。

忽然发生了大地震，以致监牢的地基都摇动起来，所有的监门立刻开了，囚犯的锁链都松了。狱吏醒过来，看见监门全开，以为囚犯都已经逃脱了，就拔出刀来想要自刎。保罗大声呼叫说：“不要伤害自己，我们都在这里！”狱吏叫人拿了灯来，就冲进去，战战兢兢地俯伏在保罗和西拉面前，

忽然有一阵好像强风吹过的响声，从天而来，充满了他们坐在里面的整间屋子。

耶利米说完了耶和华吩咐他对众民所说的一切话，众祭司、众先知和众民就抓住他，说：“你必要死！
