“ As for you, son of man, your people are talking about you near the city walls and in the doorways of their houses. One person speaks to another, each saying to his brother,‘ Come and hear what the message is that comes from the LORD!’

“人子啊，你本国的子民在墙垣旁边、在房屋门口谈论你。弟兄对弟兄彼此说：‘来吧！听听有什么话从耶和华而出。’

“你，人子啊，你本国的百姓在城墙旁边、在房屋门口谈论你。弟兄对弟兄彼此说：‘来吧！听听有什么话从耶和华而出。’

“你，人子啊，你本国的百姓在城墙旁边、在房屋门口谈论你。弟兄对弟兄彼此说：‘来吧！听听有什么话从耶和华而出。’

“人子啊，你的同胞在墙边和门口彼此议论你说，‘来，听听耶和华要他传什么信息。’

“人子啊！你本国的人在城墙旁边和各家的门口正在谈论你；弟兄对弟兄彼此说：‘来吧！听听有什么话从耶和华那里出来。’

「人子啊，你本國的子民在牆垣旁邊、在房屋門口談論你。弟兄對弟兄彼此說：『來吧！聽聽有甚麼話從耶和華而出。』

「你，人子啊，你本國的百姓在城牆旁邊、在房屋門口談論你。弟兄對弟兄彼此說：『來吧！聽聽有甚麼話從耶和華而出。』

「你，人子啊，你本國的百姓在城牆旁邊、在房屋門口談論你。弟兄對弟兄彼此說：『來吧！聽聽有甚麼話從耶和華而出。』

「人子啊，你的同胞在牆邊和門口彼此議論你說，『來，聽聽耶和華要他傳什麼信息。』

“人子啊！你本國的人在城牆旁邊和各家的門口正在談論你；弟兄對弟兄彼此說：‘來吧！聽聽有甚麼話從耶和華那裡出來。’

『你呢、人子啊，你本國的子民在牆邊、在房屋門口攻訐你，族弟兄對族弟兄彼此說：「來，來聽聽有甚麼話語出於永恆主。」

人子歟、爾民族在垣墉之側、門閾之間論爾、彼此相語曰、其來聽耶和華所出之言、

人子、爾民在垣墉之側、門閾之間、彼此相語、指爾而言曰、來聽耶和華所傳之諭、

惟爾人子歟、爾民在墻壁旁、在室門內議論爾、彼此相語曰、盍來聽有何言由主而出、

“ As for you, son of man, your people are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other,‘ Come and hear the message that has come from the Lord.’

“ Son of man, your people are talking about you. They are getting together by the walls of their houses and at their doors. They are saying to one another,‘ Come. Listen to the Lord’ s message.’

“ As for you, son of man, your people who talk together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, say to one another, each to his brother,‘ Come, and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.’

“ Son of man, your people talk about you in their houses and whisper about you at the doors. They say to each other,‘ Come on, let’s go hear the prophet tell us what the Lord is saying!’

“ But as for you, son of man, your fellow citizens who talk with one another about you by the walls and in the doorways of the houses, speak one with another, each with his brother, saying,‘ Come now and hear what the message is that comes from the Lord.’

“ As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother,‘ Please come and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.’

And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people talk of thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from Jehovah.

“ Now, son of man, your people are talking about you near the city walls and in the doorways of their houses. One person speaks to another, each saying to his brother,‘ Come and hear what the message is that comes from the Lord!’

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

“ But as for you, son of man, your people( who are talking about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses) say to one another,‘ Come hear the word that comes from the LORD.’

“ As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak to one another, everyone to his brother, saying,‘ Please come and hear what the word is that comes out from Yahweh.’

This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality.Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”

The Lord said: These people approach me with their speeches to honor me with lip-service, yet their hearts are far from me, and human rules direct their worship of me.

They seek me day after day and delight to know my ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not abandon the justice of their God. They ask me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”

This is what each man is to say to his friend and to his brother:‘ What has the LORD answered?’ or‘ What has the LORD spoken?’

You have gone astray at the cost of your lives because you are the ones who sent me to the LORD your God, saying,‘ Pray to the LORD our God on our behalf, and as for all that the LORD our God says, tell it to us, and we’ll act accordingly.’

Then all the commanders of the armies, along with Johanan son of Kareah, Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest, approachedthe prophet Jeremiah and said,“ May our petition come before you; pray to the LORD your God on our behalf, on behalf of this entire remnant( for few of us remain out of the many, as you can see with your own eyes),that the LORD your God may tell us the way we should go and the thing we should do.”So the prophet Jeremiah said to them,“ I have heard. I will now pray to the LORD your God according to your words, and I will tell you every word that the LORD answers you; I won’t withhold a word from you.”And they said to Jeremiah,“ May the LORD be a true and faithful witness against us if we don’t act according to every word the LORD your God sends you to tell us.Whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, we will obey the LORD our God to whom we are sending you so that it may go well with us. We will certainly obey the LORD our God!”

The LORD informed me, so I knew. Then you helped me to see their deeds,for I was like a docile lamb led to slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plots against me:“ Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit; let’s cut him off from the land of the living so that his name will no longer be remembered.”

Then certain ones said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah, for instruction will never be lost from the priest, or counsel from the wise, or a word from the prophet. Come, let’s denounce him and pay no attention to all his words.”
