In the twelfth year of our exile, in the tenth month on the fifth day, a man who had escaped from Jerusalem came to me and said,“ The city has fallen!”

It was the 12th year since we had been brought to Babylon as prisoners. On the fifth day of the tenth month, a man who had escaped from Jerusalem came to bring me a report. He said,“ The city has fallen!”

In the twelfth year of our exile, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, a fugitive from Jerusalem came to me and said,“ The city has been struck down.”

On January 8, during the twelfth year of our captivity, a survivor from Jerusalem came to me and said,“ The city has fallen!”

In the twelfth year of our exile, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, a fugitive from Jerusalem came to me and reported,“ The city has been taken!”

Now in the twelfth year of our exile, on the fifth of the tenth month, the survivor from Jerusalem came to me, saying,“ The city has been taken.”

And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped from Jerusalem came to me and said,“ The city has been captured!”

And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

正是约雅斤王被掳的第五年四月初五，

又因他流无辜人的血，使无辜人的血充满耶路撒冷；耶和华不愿赦免。约雅敬其余的事，凡他所做的，不都写在《犹大列王记》上吗？约雅敬与他祖先同睡，他儿子约雅斤接续他作王。埃及王不再从他的国出征，因为巴比伦王把埃及王所管之地，从埃及溪谷直到幼发拉底河都夺去了。

所以，耶和华使迦勒底人的王来攻击他们，在他们圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，不怜悯他们的少男少女、老人长者。耶和华把所有的人都交在他手里。他把神殿里一切的大小器皿与耶和华殿里的财宝，以及王和众领袖的财宝，全都带到巴比伦去。迦勒底人焚烧了神的殿，拆毁耶路撒冷的城墙，用火烧了城里所有的宫殿，毁坏了城里一切宝贵的器皿。凡脱离刀剑的幸存者，迦勒底王都掳到巴比伦去，作他和他子孙的仆婢，直到波斯国兴起。这就应验耶和华藉耶利米的口所说的话：地得享安息；在荒凉的日子，地就守安息，直到满了七十年。

逃脱的人岂不来到你这里，使你耳闻这事吗？那日你要向逃脱的人开口说话，不再哑口无言。你必这样成为他们的预兆，他们就知道我是耶和华。”

我们被掳的第二十五年，耶路撒冷城攻破后十四年，正在年初，某月初十，就在那一天，耶和华的手按在我身上，把我带到那里。

犹大王西底家第九年十月，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军前来围困耶路撒冷。西底家十一年四月初九日，城被攻破。耶路撒冷被攻下的时候，巴比伦王的众官长，尼甲‧沙利薛、三甲‧尼波、撒西金将军、尼甲‧沙利薛将军，并巴比伦王其余的官长都来坐在中门。犹大王西底家和所有士兵看见他们，就在夜间从靠近王的花园、两城墙中间的门逃跑出城，往亚拉巴逃去。迦勒底的军队追赶他们，在耶利哥的平原追上西底家，将他逮住，带到哈马地的利比拉、巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒那里；尼布甲尼撒就判他的罪。在利比拉，巴比伦王在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女；巴比伦王又杀了犹大所有的贵族，并且挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁住他，要带到巴比伦去。迦勒底人用火焚烧王宫和百姓的房屋，又拆毁耶路撒冷的城墙。

城被攻破，士兵全都在夜间从靠近王的花园、两城墙中间的门逃跑。迦勒底人正在四围攻城，王就往亚拉巴逃去。

他作王第九年十月初十，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒率领全军前来攻击耶路撒冷，对着城安营，四围筑堡垒攻城，城被围困，直到西底家王十一年。四月初九，城里的饥荒非常严重，当地的百姓都没有粮食。城被攻破，士兵全都在夜间从靠近王园两城墙中间的门逃跑出城；迦勒底人正在四围攻城，他们就往亚拉巴逃去。迦勒底的军队追赶西底家王，在耶利哥的平原追上他。他的全军都离开他溃散了。迦勒底人就拿住王，带他到哈马地利比拉的巴比伦王那里；巴比伦王就判他的罪。巴比伦王在西底家眼前杀了他的儿女，又在利比拉杀了犹大全体的官长，并且挖了西底家的眼睛，用铜链锁着他，带到巴比伦去，将他囚在监里，直到他死的日子。巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒十九年五月初十，在巴比伦王面前侍立的尼布撒拉旦护卫长进入耶路撒冷，他焚烧了耶和华的殿、王宫和耶路撒冷的房屋；用火焚烧所有大户人家的房屋。跟随护卫长的迦勒底全军拆毁了耶路撒冷四围的城墙。
