There[ is] Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.

在彼有以蘭、及其眾旅、素使人恐懼、今亡以刃、抱愧蒙羞、下於窀穸、偃仆其側、與不潔者無異。

“ Elam is there, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword. All who had spread terror in the land of the living went down uncircumcised to the earth below. They bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

“ Elam is also there. Its huge armies lie around the grave of its king. All those who spread terror while they were alive are now dead. They were killed by swords. They had not been circumcised. They went down into the earth below. Their shame is like the shame of others who go down into the grave.

“ Elam lies there surrounded by the graves of all its hordes, those who were slaughtered by the sword. They struck terror in the hearts of people everywhere, but now they have descended as outcasts to the world below. Now they lie in the pit and share the shame of those who have gone before them.

That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them,[ even] my fierce anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the LORD.But it shall come to pass in the latter days,[ that] I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the LORD.

Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down,[ even] her, and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the nether parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.

When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;

Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that[ are] about you, they shall bear their shame.

And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations;

And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy[ place]: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.

After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made[ them] afraid.

And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,

To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing[ shall be] on thy glory.

And it shall come to pass in that day,[ that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I[ was] at Shushan[ in] the palace, which[ is] in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.

The strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of hell with them that help him: they are gone down, they lie uncircumcised, slain by the sword.

For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.

Neither will I cause[ men] to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
