你曾在上帝的伊甸园中，你曾佩戴各种宝石，有红宝石、黄玉、钻石、绿宝石、红玛瑙、碧玉、蓝宝石、绿松石、翡翠，还镶嵌着精美的黄金，这些在你受造的那天都已经预备妥当。

它的树荫遮盖群山，枝子遮蔽香柏树。

我必安慰锡安和锡安所有的荒场，使旷野像伊甸园，使沙漠变成我的园囿，里面有欢喜、快乐、感谢和歌颂的声音。

罗得举目眺望，看见整个约旦河平原，远至琐珥，水源充足。在耶和华还没有毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉之前，那地方就好像耶和华的伊甸园，又像埃及。

耶和华上帝在东方的伊甸开辟了一个园子，把祂所造的人安置在里面。耶和华上帝使地面长出各种树木，它们既好看又能结出可吃的果子。在园子的中间有生命树和分别善恶的树。

我将它与下坟墓的人一同抛到阴间时，列国听见它坠落的响声，都恐惧战抖。伊甸园中的树木和黎巴嫩水源充足、上好的树木都在阴间得到安慰。

“‘伊甸园的树木中，谁能与你的威荣相比呢？然而你却要与伊甸园的树木一同下到阴间，躺卧在未受割礼的人当中，与被杀的人在一起。“‘这就是法老和他百姓的结局。这是主耶和华说的。’”

亚述的将军对他们说：“你们去告诉希西迦，伟大的亚述王说，‘你凭什么这样自信呢？你所谓的战略和军力不过是空话。你究竟倚靠谁，竟敢背叛我？看啊，你所倚靠的埃及不过是一根破裂的芦苇，倚靠它的必被刺破手。倚靠埃及王法老的下场都是这样。’也许你说，‘我们倚靠我们的上帝耶和华。’希西迦不是拆毁了祂的庙宇和祭坛，又吩咐犹大和耶路撒冷的人只能在这座祭坛前敬拜吗？来，跟我主人亚述王打个赌，你若能找到两千骑士，我就给你两千匹马！你们即使依靠埃及的战车和骑兵，又怎能打败我主人的一个最小的将领呢？更何况我来攻打、毁灭这地方不正是耶和华的意思吗？耶和华吩咐我攻打、毁灭这地方。”以利亚敬、舍伯那和约亚对亚述的将军说：“求你用亚兰语跟仆人们说话，我们都听得懂。求你不要用希伯来语跟我们说话，免得城墙上的人听见。”亚述的将军却说：“难道我主派我来只对希西迦和你们说这些话吗？不也是对城墙上的人说吗？他们和你们一样都要吃自己的粪，喝自己的尿。”于是，他站着用希伯来语大喊：“你们要听伟大的亚述王的话，王说，‘你们不要被希西迦欺骗，他不能救你们。不要听希西迦的话去倚靠耶和华，说什么耶和华必拯救你们，这城必不会落在亚述王手中。’不要听希西迦的话。亚述王说，‘你们要跟我讲和，出来归顺我。这样，你们就可以吃自己葡萄树和无花果树的果子，喝自己井里的水。以后我会来领你们到一个地方，那里和这里一样有五谷和新酒、饼和葡萄园。不要让希西迦欺骗你们，以为耶和华必拯救你们。列国的神明中有哪个曾经从亚述王手中救他的国家呢？

我见过邪恶残暴之人，乍看如葱茏的黎巴嫩香柏树，

可是他却不这样想，心里也不这样盘算，他只想毁灭许多国家。他说，‘我的臣仆都要做藩王！迦勒挪岂不是和迦基米施一样吗？哈马岂不是和亚珥拔一样吗？撒玛利亚岂不是和大马士革一样吗？它们不是都被我征服了吗？这些国家都在我的手中，他们雕刻的偶像不胜过耶路撒冷和撒玛利亚的偶像吗？我怎样毁灭撒玛利亚和它的偶像，也必怎样毁灭耶路撒冷和它的偶像。’”主完成在锡安山和耶路撒冷要做的事后，必惩罚心里狂妄、眼目高傲的亚述王。因为亚述王说：“我靠自己的力量和智慧成就了此事，因为我很聪明。我废除列国的疆界，掳掠他们的财物，像勇士一样征服他们的君王。我夺取列国的财物，好像探囊取物；我征服天下，不过是手到擒来；无人反抗，无人吭声。”

你肯定听过亚述诸王扫灭列国的事，难道你能幸免吗？我先祖毁灭了歌散、哈兰、利色和提·拉撒的伊甸人，这些国家的神明救得了他们吗？哈马王、亚珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王如今在哪里呢？”
