The gates of your land are wide open to your enemies; fire has devoured your bars.Draw water for the siege; strengthen your forts; go into the clay; tread the mortar; take hold of the brick mold!There will the fire devour you; the sword will cut you off. Its leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, and the birds of the heavens lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.

I made the nations quake at the sound of its fall, when I cast it down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit. And all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the world below.

And he will stretch out his hand against the north and destroy Assyria, and he will make Nineveh a desolation, a dry waste like the desert.
