But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are.

But I will make you just as stubborn as they are.

Behold, I have made your face as hard as their faces, and your forehead as hard as their foreheads.

But look, I have made you as obstinate and hard hearted as they are.

Look, I have made your face as hard as their faces and your forehead as hard as their foreheads.

Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads.

Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land— against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. (niv)

Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. (niv)

And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets,who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions,quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies.Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection.Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment.They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— (niv)

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. (niv)

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin. (niv)

You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do.He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him. (niv)
