“ They even sent messengers for men who came from far away, and when they arrived you bathed yourself for them, applied eye makeup and put on your jewelry.

They even sent for men to come from afar, to whom a messenger was sent; and behold, they came. For them you bathed yourself, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments.

你這被毀壞的啊！你在幹甚麼？即使你穿上朱紅色的服裝，佩戴黃金飾物，用顏料畫大你的眼睛，你自炫漂亮，也是白費的。愛你的人仍然鄙視你，他們都在尋索你的命！

耶戶到了耶斯列。耶洗別已經聽聞，就塗眼梳頭，從窗戶裡往外觀望。

這樣你就有了金銀的裝飾，你穿的是細麻、絲綢和刺繡的衣服；你吃的是細麵、蜂蜜和油；你實在非常美麗，配登王后的位。你的名聲因你的美麗傳遍列國，你全然美麗，是因為我加在你身上的榮美。這是主耶和華的宣告。“‘可是你倚仗你的美麗，又憑著你的名聲去行淫；你向每一個過路的人縱情淫亂（《馬索拉文本》在本節最後有“而那便成了屬他的”；現參照《七十士譯本》和其他古譯本的較短讀文翻譯）。你拿了你的一些衣服，為自己建造色彩繽紛的邱壇，又在那裡行淫。這樣的事不應發生，將來也不會再出現。

你帶著油走到君王那裡，並且加多了你的香料，差派使者到遠方去，你甚至自己下到陰間去！

到那日，主必除掉她們華美的腳釧、髮網、月牙圈、耳墜、手鐲、蒙臉的帕子、頭飾、腳環、華帶、香盒、符囊、戒指、鼻環、美服、外衣、錢袋、鏡子、細麻襯衣、頭巾、蒙身帕子。

看哪！有一個婦人來迎接他，是妓女的打扮，心存詭詐。

你洗個澡，抹上香膏，穿上斗篷，就下到禾場去。不過，那個人還沒有吃喝完畢，別讓他認出你來。

每個少女輪流進宮見亞哈隨魯王之前，都要照著女子的規例潔淨身體十二個月，因為女子潔身的規例是這樣：六個月用沒藥油，六個月用香品和婦女潔身用的其他物品。

希西家聽了使者的話，隨後把寶庫內的一切銀子、金子、香料、貴重的油和軍器庫，以及他寶庫內一切所有的，都給他們看。無論是在他的宮中或是在全國各地的，希西家沒有一樣不給他們看的。後來，以賽亞先知來到希西家王那裡，對他說：“這些人說了些甚麼？他們是從哪裡來見你的呢？”希西家說：“他們是從遙遠的巴比倫來見我的。”以賽亞說：“他們在你宮中看到了甚麼呢？”希西家說：“我宮中的一切，他們都看見了。在我寶庫內的，我沒有一樣不給他們看的。”

我看見她被玷污了；她們姊妹兩人所行的路都是一樣。
