「人子啊，你要向這地說：你是未被潔淨之地，在我盛怒的日子，沒有雨水在其上。

『人子啊，你要對這地說：當我盛怒的日子、你是沒有雨水未得霖雨之地。

人子歟、當告斯土曰、爾乃不潔之地、震怒之日、甘霖不沛、

人子、當告以色列族曰、斯土不潔、震怒之日、甘霖不沛、

人子、當告斯地曰、爾乃未得潔之地、震怒之日不得甘雨、

“ Son of man, say to the land,‘ You are a land that has not been cleansed or rained on in the day of wrath.’

“ Son of man, speak to the land. Tell it,‘ You have not been washed clean with rain. That’s because I am angry with you.’

“ Son of man, say to her, You are a land that is not cleansed or rained upon in the day of indignation.

“ Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: In the day of my indignation, you will be like a polluted land, a land without rain.

“ Son of man, say to her,‘ You are a land that has not been cleansed, that has not received rain in the day of indignation.’

“ Son of man, say to her,‘ You are a land that is not clean or rained on in the day of indignation.’

這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。

不聽從命令，不領受訓誨，不倚靠耶和華，不親近它的神。

我責打你們的兒女是徒然的，他們不受管教。你們自己的刀吞滅你們的先知，好像殘害人的獅子。

這亞哈斯王在急難的時候，越發得罪耶和華。

風箱吹火，鉛被燒燬，煉而又煉，終是徒然，因為惡劣的還未除掉。

眾祭司長和百姓也多多犯罪，效法列國一切可憎的事，玷污耶和華在耶路撒冷分別為聖的殿。耶和華－他們列祖的神因為愛惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他們。他們卻嘲笑神的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華向他的百姓大發烈怒，甚至無法可救。

耶和華啊，你的眼目不是在尋找誠實嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不傷慟；你摧毀他們，他們仍不領受管教。他們使臉剛硬過於磐石，不肯回頭。

雖然我想潔淨你污穢的淫行，你卻不潔淨，你的污穢再也不能潔淨，直等我止息了向你發的憤怒。

你們為甚麼屢次悖逆，繼續受責打呢？你們已經滿頭疼痛，全心發昏；

「論到你奉耶和華的名向我們所說的話，我們必不聽從。我們定要照我們口中所說的一切話去做，向天后燒香，獻澆酒祭，按着我們與我們祖先、君王、官長在猶大城鎮和耶路撒冷街市上素常所做的一樣；因為那時我們得以吃飽、享福樂，並未遇見災禍。自從我們停止向天后燒香，獻澆酒祭，我們倒缺乏這一切，又因刀劍饑荒滅絕。」婦女們說：「我們向天后燒香，獻澆酒祭，做天后像的餅供奉它，向它獻澆酒祭，難道我們的丈夫沒有參與嗎？」
