“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are but the dross of silver.

“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become like scum to me. All of them are like the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are only the scum that is removed from silver.”

你除掉地上所有的惡人，好像除掉渣滓；因此我喜愛你的法度。

你的銀子變為渣滓，你的酒用水沖淡。

他們極其悖逆，到處毀謗人，他們是銅是鐵，全都敗壞了。風箱吹火，鉛被燒燬，煉而又煉，終是徒然，因為惡劣的還未除掉。人必稱他們為被拋棄的銀子，因為耶和華已經拋棄了他們。

看哪，我熬煉你，卻不像熬煉銀子；你在苦難的火爐中，我試煉你。

鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金，惟有耶和華熬煉人心。

唉！黃金竟然無光！純金竟然變色！聖所的石頭散落在街上。錫安寶貝的孩子雖然好比精金，現在竟當作陶匠手所做的瓦瓶！

我必反手對付你，如鹼煉淨你的渣滓，除盡你的雜質。

因為我知道你是頑梗的；你的頸項是鐵的，你的額頭是銅的。

人怎樣把銀、銅、鐵、鉛、錫聚在爐中，吹火使它鎔化；照樣，我也要在我的怒氣和憤怒中聚集你們，把你們安置在城中，使你們鎔化。

它的磐石必因驚嚇而消失，它的領袖必因大旗驚惶；這是那有火在錫安、有爐在耶路撒冷的耶和華說的。
