“ Now you, son of man, prophesy, and say,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says concerning the Ammonites and their contempt.’ You are to proclaim,‘ A sword! A sword is drawn for slaughter, polished to consume, to flash like lightning.

“人子啊，要发预言说：主耶和华论到亚扪人和他们的凌辱，吩咐我如此说：有刀，有拔出来的刀，已经擦亮，为行杀戮，使他像闪电以行吞灭。

“人子啊，你要说预言；你要说，论到亚扪人和他们的凌辱，主耶和华吩咐我如此说：有刀，拔出来的刀，已经擦亮，为了行杀戮；它亮如闪电以行吞灭。

“人子啊，你要说预言；你要说，论到亚扪人和他们的凌辱，主耶和华吩咐我如此说：有刀，拔出来的刀，已经擦亮，为了行杀戮；它亮如闪电以行吞灭。

“人子啊，你要说有关亚扪人及其耻辱的预言，告诉他们，主耶和华说，‘有刀，有刀已出鞘，为要杀戮；它亮如闪电，要行毁灭。

「人子啊，你要說有關亞捫人及其恥辱的預言，告訴他們，主耶和華說，『有刀，有刀已出鞘，為要殺戮；它亮如閃電，要行毀滅。

“人子啊！你要說預言：論到亞捫人和他們的侮辱，主耶和華這樣說：‘你要說：有一把刀，有一把刀拔出來，是為要殺戮；擦亮，是為要毀滅，為要閃爍發光。

『人子啊，你要傳神言說：關於亞捫人和他們的辱罵、主永恆主是這麼說的：你要說：有刀劍，有拔出來的刀劍要屠殺，是已擦亮，要燦爛發光、像閃電的——

惟爾人子、當預言云、主耶和華論亞捫人、及其侮辱之言曰、有刃出鞘、磨光殺戮、猶如閃電、以行吞滅、

惟爾人子、當以未來事語人、云、亞捫人凌辱以色列族、故主耶和華曰、鋒刃已拔、加以磨礪、光芒閃爍、殺戮人民。

惟爾人子、亞捫人凌辱以色列族、爾當指彼言未來之事、曰、主天主如是云、有刃、有拔出之刃、為行殺戮而磨、以致光明閃爍、

“ And you, son of man, prophesy and say,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says about the Ammonites and their insults:“‘ A sword, a sword, drawn for the slaughter, polished to consume and to flash like lightning!

“ Son of man, prophesy. Say,‘ The Lord and King speaks about the Ammonites. He also talks about the way they laugh because of Jerusalem’s fall. He says,“‘ “A sword! A sword! Nebuchadnezzar’s sword is ready to kill you. It is shined to destroy you. It flashes like lightning.

“ And you, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord God concerning the Ammonites and concerning their reproach; say, A sword, a sword is drawn for the slaughter. It is polished to consume and to flash like lightning—

“ And now, son of man, prophesy concerning the Ammonites and their mockery. Give them this message from the Sovereign Lord:“ A sword, a sword is drawn for your slaughter. It is polished to destroy, flashing like lightning!

“ And you, son of man, prophesy and say,‘ This is what the Lord God says concerning the sons of Ammon and their taunting,’ and say:‘ A sword, a sword is drawn, sharpened for the slaughter, to make it consume, so that it may be like lightning—

“ And you, son of man, prophesy and say,‘ Thus says the Lord God concerning the Ammonites and concerning their reproach,’ and say:‘ A sword, a sword is drawn, Polished for slaughter, For consuming, for flashing—

And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and say thou, A sword, a sword is drawn, for the slaughter it is furbished, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;

“ Now prophesy, son of man, and say: This is what the Lord God says concerning the Ammonites and their contempt. You are to proclaim: A sword! A sword is drawn for slaughter, polished to consume, to flash like lightning.

And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword[ is] drawn: for the slaughter[ it is] furbished, to consume because of the glittering:

“ As for you, son of man, prophesy and say,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says concerning the Ammonites and their coming humiliation; say:“‘ A sword, a sword drawn for slaughter, polished to consume, to flash like lightning–

“ You, son of man, prophesy, and say,‘ The Lord Yahweh says this concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach:“ A sword! A sword is drawn! It is polished for the slaughter, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;

Mark out a road that the sword can take to Rabbah of the Ammonites and to Judah into fortified Jerusalem.

“ Son of man, prophesy,‘ This is what the Lord says!’ You are to proclaim,‘ A sword! A sword is sharpened and also polished.It is sharpened for slaughter, polished to flash like lightning! Should we rejoice? The scepter of my son, the sword despises every tree.

I have heard the taunting of Moab and the insults of the Ammonites, who have taunted my people and threatened their territory.Therefore, as I live— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel— Moab will be like Sodom and the Ammonites like Gomorrah: a place overgrown with weeds, a salt pit, and a perpetual wasteland. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the remainder of my nation will dispossess them.This is what they get for their pride, because they have taunted and acted arrogantly against the people of the LORD of Armies.

“ Son of man, face the Ammonites and prophesy against them.Say to the Ammonites,‘ Hear the word of the Lord GOD: This is what the Lord GOD says: Because you said,“ Aha!” about my sanctuary when it was desecrated, about the land of Israel when it was laid waste, and about the house of Judah when they went into exile,therefore I am about to give you to the people of the east as a possession. They will set up their encampments and pitch their tents among you. They will eat your fruit and drink your milk.I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and Ammon a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the LORD.“‘ For this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and rejoiced over the land of Israel with wholehearted contempt,therefore I am about to stretch out my hand against you and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and eliminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the LORD.

About the Ammonites, this is what the LORD says: Does Israel have no sons? Is he without an heir? Why then has Milcom dispossessed Gad and his people settled in their cities?Therefore look, the days are coming— this is the LORD’s declaration— when I will make the shout of battle heard against Rabbah of the Ammonites. It will become a desolate mound, and its surrounding villages will be set on fire. Israel will dispossess their dispossessors, says the LORD.Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is devastated; cry out, daughters of Rabbah! Clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and lament; run back and forth within your walls, because Milcom will go into exile together with his priests and officials.Why do you boast about your valleys, your flowing valley, you faithless daughter— you who trust in your treasures and say,“ Who can attack me?”Look, I am about to bring terror on you— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD of Armies— from all those around you. You will be banished, each person headlong, with no one to gather up the fugitives.

The LORD says: I will not relent from punishing the Ammonites for three crimes, even four, because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their territory.Therefore, I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah, and it will consume its citadels. There will be shouting on the day of battle and a violent wind on the day of the storm.Their king and his princes will go into exile together. The LORD has spoken.

Over all the barren heights in the wilderness the destroyers have come, for the LORD has a sword that devours from one end of the earth to the other. No one has peace.
