你们要在锡安四处巡行，绕城一周，数点城楼，细察它的外墙，巡视它的堡垒，使你们可以述说给后代的人听。

那时，约押正在攻打亚扪人的拉巴，攻取了王城。

你们又数点耶路撒冷的房屋，把房屋拆掉，用来坚固城墙。

希西家发愤图强，重建所有拆毁了的城墙，墙上筑起瞭望楼，又建造一道外墙，并且巩固大卫城内的米罗，又制造了很多兵器和盾牌。

此后，玛拿西在大卫城外，从谷中的基训西边起直到鱼门口，建了一道城墙，围绕着俄斐勒，他把城墙建得很高；又在犹大各设防城里，派驻军长。

后来大卫住在保障里，称保障为“大卫的城”。大卫又从米罗向里面周围筑墙。

乌西雅在耶路撒冷的角门、谷门和城墙转角的地方，建筑了城楼，这些城楼非常坚固。

地上的君王，以及世上所有的居民都不相信，会有任何敌人和仇敌攻进耶路撒冷的城门。
