“ So you, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands together: Let the sword strike two times, even three. It is a sword for massacre, a sword for great massacre— it surrounds them!

“人子啊，你要拍掌对他们说预言，你要拿刀挥舞两三次，预示这刀要从四面八方大肆杀戮，

“人子啊！至于你，你要拍手说预言，要接二连三地使用这杀人的刀，就是导致极大死伤的刀，把它们围困，

「人子啊，你要拍掌預言。我－耶和華要使這刀，就是致死傷的刀，一連三次加倍刺人，進入他們的內屋，使大人受死傷的就是這刀。

「人子啊，你要拍掌對他們說預言，你要拿刀揮舞兩三次，預示這刀要從四面八方大肆殺戮，

“人子啊！至於你，你要拍手說預言，要接二連三地使用這殺人的刀，就是導致極大死傷的刀，把它們圍困，

『因此人子啊，你要傳神言；拍掌講話：要再次再三地使這刀，就是刺人致死的刀，刺死大人物的刀，就是在他們四圍的，

人子歟、爾其預言而鼓掌、使刃再三行戮、此刃即重傷大人、入諸密室者、

惟爾人子、當鼓爾掌、言未來事、使刃三至、殺戮人民、入諸密室、誅滅大人。

惟爾人子、當鼓掌言未來事、言未來事或作述預言下同使刃至再至三、此刃殺戮多民、入其密室、誅滅大人、使刃至再至三此刃殺戮多民入其密室誅滅大人或作此刃必再三行殺戮此乃殺戮多人之刃此乃殺戮大人之刃必入其密室

“ So then, son of man, prophesy and strike your hands together. Let the sword strike twice, even three times. It is a sword for slaughter— a sword for great slaughter, closing in on them from every side.

“ Son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands. Let the sword strike twice. Let it strike even three times. It is a sword to kill people. It is a sword to kill many people. It is closing in on them from every side.

“ As for you, son of man, prophesy. Clap your hands and let the sword come down twice, yes, three times, the sword for those to be slain. It is the sword for the great slaughter, which surrounds them,

“ Son of man, prophesy to them and clap your hands. Then take the sword and brandish it twice, even three times, to symbolize the great massacre, the great massacre facing them on every side.

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy and clap your hands; and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword for the slain. It is the sword for the great one slain, which surrounds them,

“ You therefore, son of man, prophesy, And strike your hands together. The third time let the sword do double damage. It is the sword that slays, The sword that slays the great men, That enters their private chambers.

Then Balak became furious with Balaam, struck his hands together, and said to him,“ I summoned you to put a curse on my enemies, but instead, you have blessed them these three times.

During Jehoiakim’s reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked. Jehoiakim became his vassal for three years, and then he turned and rebelled against him.

At that time the servants of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon marched up to Jerusalem, and the city came under siege.King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon came to the city while his servants were besieging it.King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials, surrendered to the king of Babylon. So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.He also carried off from there all the treasures of the LORD’s temple and the treasures of the king’s palace, and he cut into pieces all the gold articles that King Solomon of Israel had made for the LORD’s sanctuary, just as the LORD had predicted.He deported all Jerusalem and all the commanders and all the best soldiers— ten thousand captives including all the craftsmen and metalsmiths. Except for the poorest people of the land, no one remained.Nebuchadnezzar deported Jehoiachin to Babylon. He took the king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officials, and the leading men of the land into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.The king of Babylon brought captive into Babylon all seven thousand of the best soldiers and one thousand craftsmen and metalsmiths— all strong and fit for war.

“ This is what the Lord GOD says: Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and cry out over all the evil and detestable practices of the house of Israel, who will fall by the sword, famine, and plague.

then I will act with hostility toward you; I also will strike you seven times for your sins.

“ If you act with hostility toward me and are unwilling to obey me, I will multiply your plagues seven times for your sins.

Micaiah replied,“ You will soon see when you go to hide in an inner chamber on that day.”

I also will clap my hands together, and I will satisfy my wrath. I, the LORD, have spoken.”

He said to me,“ Son of man, do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his idol? For they are saying,‘ The LORD does not see us. The LORD has abandoned the land.’”

If they dig down to Sheol, from there my hand will take them; if they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down.

Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with rage, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He gave orders to heat the furnace seven times more than was customary,

In the ninth year of Zedekiah’s reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon advanced against Jerusalem with his entire army. They laid siege to the city and built a siege wall against it all around.The city was under siege until King Zedekiah’s eleventh year.By the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that the common people had no food.Then the city was broken into, and all the warriors fled at night by way of the city gate between the two walls near the king’s garden, even though the Chaldeans surrounded the city. As the king made his way along the route to the Arabah,the Chaldean army pursued him and overtook him in the plains of Jericho. Zedekiah’s entire army left him and scattered.The Chaldeans seized the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah, and they passed sentence on him.They slaughtered Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes. Finally, the king of Babylon blinded Zedekiah, bound him in bronze chains, and took him to Babylon.

The ones who remained fled into the city of Aphek, and the wall fell on those twenty-seven thousand remaining men. Ben-hadad also fled and went into an inner room in the city.
