人们出来看个究竟，到了耶稣那里，发现那曾被鬼附身的人衣着整齐、神智清醒地坐在耶稣脚前，他们都很害怕。

主说：“这些人嘴上亲近我，尊崇我，心却远离我。他们敬拜我不过是遵行人定的规条。

耶罗波安就吩咐妻子：“你乔装改扮使人认不出你是我妻子，然后去示罗找那位预言我做王的先知亚希雅。你要带十个饼、一些薄饼和一瓶蜂蜜去，他将告诉你孩子的病情会怎样。”耶罗波安的妻子就照他的话做，前往示罗，来到亚希雅家。那时亚希雅因年纪老迈，眼睛已失明。耶和华预先告诉亚希雅说：“耶罗波安的妻子会乔装成别的妇人，前来问你有关她儿子的病情，你要如此如此回答她。”她刚进门，亚希雅听见她的脚步声就说：“耶罗波安的妻子啊，你进来吧，为什么乔装改扮呢？我奉命告诉你一个噩耗。

他们派了自己的门徒跟希律党人一同去问耶稣：“老师，我们知道你诚实无伪，按真理传上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。

那时，几位以色列的长老到我这里来，坐在我面前。耶和华对我说：“人子啊，这些人在心里立起偶像，把导致犯罪的绊脚石放在自己面前，我岂能让他们来求问？

以利沙对以色列王说：“我与你有什么关系？你去问你父母的先知吧！”以色列王说：“不要这样说，耶和华招聚我们三王，是要把我们交给摩押王！”

米该雅来到以色列王面前，王就问他：“米该雅啊，我可不可以去攻打基列的拉末？”米该雅回答说：“上去攻打吧，一定得胜，耶和华必将那城交在王手中。”王却说：“我要嘱咐你多少次，你才肯奉耶和华的名对我说实话呢？”米该雅说：“我看见以色列人四散在山上，好像没有牧人的羊群一样。耶和华说，‘这些人没有主人，让他们各自平安地回家去吧。’”以色列王对约沙法说：“我不是告诉过你吗？他给我的预言都是有凶无吉。”米该雅说：“你要听耶和华的话。我看见耶和华坐在宝座上，众天军侍立在祂左右。耶和华说，‘谁愿意去引诱亚哈到基列的拉末去送死呢？’众天军议论纷纷。后来，有一个灵站出来对耶和华说他愿意去。耶和华问他用什么方法，他说，‘我要做谎言之灵，进入他众先知的口中。’耶和华说，‘你必能成功，就这样做吧。’现在，耶和华已经把谎言之灵放进这些先知口中，耶和华已决意降祸给你。”基拿拿的儿子西底迦听了米该雅的话就上前打他的脸，说：“耶和华的灵怎会离开我向你说话呢？”米该雅说：“你躲进密室的那天就知道了。”以色列王下令说：“把米该雅交给亚们总督和约阿施王子，告诉他们，‘王说，要把这人关在监牢，只给他一些饼和水，直到我平安地回来。’”米该雅说：“如果你能够平安地回来，耶和华就没有借着我说话。”他又说：“众民啊，你们都记住我的话。”

三天后，他们才在圣殿里找到耶稣，祂正和教师们坐在一起，一边听一边问问题。

玛大的妹妹玛丽亚坐在耶稣脚前听道，

“人子啊，你的同胞在墙边和门口彼此议论你说，‘来，听听耶和华要他传什么信息。’他们随着人群来到你面前，坐着聆听你的话，俨然像我的子民。但他们不付诸实行，嘴里说的是甜言蜜语，心中却追求不义之财。他们只听不做，你在他们眼中只不过是善唱情歌、长于弹奏乐器的人。看吧，我所说的必定应验。当一切应验的时候，他们就知道有先知在他们当中。”

后来，西底迦王派人把他带到自己的宫中，私下问他：“耶和华有什么话给你吗？”耶利米说：“有，你要被交在巴比伦王手中。”
