Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die.

They think about all the evil things they have done. And they turn away from them. So you can be sure they will live. They will not die.

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices (niv)

“ But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things: (niv)

“ I have surely heard Ephraim’s moaning:‘ You disciplined me like an unruly calf, and I have been disciplined. Restore me, and I will return, because you are the Lord my God.After I strayed, I repented; after I came to understand, I beat my breast. I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Therefore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him,” declares the Lord. (niv)

Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? (niv)

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. (niv)

“ Therefore, son of man, say to your people,‘ If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.’ (niv)

If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be! (niv)

“ Therefore, son of man, pack your belongings for exile and in the daytime, as they watch, set out and go from where you are to another place. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious people. (niv)
