永恆主這麼說：我必用成隊的人、許多外族之民、將我的羅網撒在你身上，用我的網子把你拉上。

然而你還說：「我無辜；主的怒氣必定向我轉消。」看吧，我一定要判罰你，因為你自己說：「我沒有犯罪。」

我必用瘟疫和流血的慘事來判罰他；我必下暴雨，又像下雨般地將大冰雹、火與硫磺下給他和他的部隊、以及跟隨他的許多外族民。

迦勒底人的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥原野追上了西底家，將他拿住，把他帶上去到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裏；尼布甲尼撒就宣佈判語定他的罪。巴比倫王在利比拉當西底家眼前將他的眾兒子都宰殺掉；巴比倫王也宰殺了猶大所有顯貴的人，並將西底家的一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他，要將他帶到巴比倫去。

『看吧，仇敵像獅子從約但河邊的叢林上來，攻擊歷久不壞的田莊；一眨眼之間我就要使他們都跑走、離開這地了；誰蒙揀選，我就派誰治理這地。因為誰能比得上我呢？誰能定期傳我對訊呢？有哪一個牧民者能在我面前站立得住呢？

那五個王逃跑，藏匿在瑪基大洞裏。有人告訴約書亞說：『那五個王已經找到了，都藏匿在瑪基大洞裏呢。』約書亞說：『把幾塊大石頭輥到洞口，派人看守着。

因此永恆主使亞述王的將軍來攻擊他們，用鐃鈎鈎住瑪拿西，用銅鍊鎖着他，將他帶到巴比倫去。

押沙龍偶然和大衛的臣僕相碰着。那時押沙龍正騎着騾子；騾子來到一棵很大的篤耨香樹的密枝底下：押沙龍的頭髮纏住了那篤耨香樹，他掛在半空中，他下面的騾子跑過去了。

要跟你們的母親大大爭辯——因為她不是我的妻子，我也不是她的丈夫——要叫她除掉她臉上的淫相，和她胸間的姦淫態；

我若昂首自得，你就如獅子追捕我，顯奇妙作為責罰我。

他們一去，我就將我的網子撒在他們身上；我必將他們打下來如同空中的飛鳥；我必按他們壞行為之貫滿懲罰他們。

『因此，永恆主發神諭說：我還在和你們爭辯，也和你們的子孫爭辯。

諸山哪，聽永恆主審案哦！地的根基啊，側耳以聽哦！因為永恆主有案件要責罪他的子民，責罪以色列。

因為那日子總必臨到住全地上一切的人。

我們的活氣、永恆主所膏立的王、在敵人的陷坑中被捉住；卻是我們曾經說到：『我們在列國中要在他蔭庇下活着』的。

『他從高天降火，使火下我骨頭；他鋪下網子來絆我的腳，使我退後；他使我淒涼，終日發暈。

因為人類並不知道他自己的定時：魚怎樣被捉住於致禍的網裏，鳥怎樣被捉住於機檻中，人類當禍患時、災禍忽然降到他們身上時、人也怎樣被羅住。
