然而我们晓得，凡律法所说的，都是对在律法之下的人说的，好让每一个人都没有话可讲，使全世界的人都伏在神的审判之下。

主啊！你是公义的；我们满面羞愧，正如今日的光景；我们犹大人、耶路撒冷的居民，和被你赶逐到远近各地的以色列众人，都因对你不忠而满面羞愧。耶和华啊！我们和我们的君王、领袖、列祖，都满面羞愧，因为我们得罪了你。

因为是你作了这事，我就静默不开口。

那时，你们必想起你们的恶行和不好的作为，就必因你们的罪孽和可憎恶的事厌恶自己。你们要知道我这样行，不是为了你们的缘故；以色列家啊！你们要因自己的行为抱愧蒙羞。这是主耶和华的宣告。

你接纳你姊姊和你妹妹回来的时候，你就会想起你所行的，并要自觉惭愧；我要把她们赐给你作女儿，但这并不是出于我与你所立的约。

这样，有什么可夸的呢？没有可夸的了。凭什么准则说没有的呢？凭行为吗？不是的，而是以信心为准则说的。

祷告说：‘我的神啊，我感觉羞耻惭愧，不敢向我的神你仰面；因为我们的罪孽多至灭顶，我们的罪过滔天。

这样，你会对我说：“那么他为什么责怪人呢？有谁抗拒他的旨意呢？”你这个人哪，你是谁，竟敢跟神顶嘴呢？被造的怎么可以对造他的说：“你为什么把我做成这个样子呢？”

罪孽胜过了我，但我们的过犯，你都必赦免。

拯救我们的神啊！求你因你名的荣耀帮助我们；为你名的缘故，搭救我们，赦免我们的罪。

你这判断人的啊！无论你是谁，都没有办法推诿。你在什么事上判断人，就在什么事上定自己的罪；因为你所作的，正是你所判断的事。

使你与人不同的是谁呢？你有什么不是领受的呢？既然是领受的，为什么要自夸，好像不是领受的呢？

我们从前也都和他们在一起，放纵肉体的私欲，随着肉体和心意所喜好的去行；我们与别人一样，生来都是可怒的儿女。然而神满有怜悯，因着他爱我们的大爱，就在我们因过犯死了的时候，使我们与基督一同活过来，（你们得救是靠着恩典，）

人活在世上，因自己的罪受惩罚，为什么发怨言呢？

我们从前也是无知、不顺服、受了迷惑、被各种私欲和逸乐所奴役，生活在恶毒和嫉妒之中，是可憎可恶的，并且互相仇视。然而，到了神我们的救主显明他的恩慈和怜爱的时候，他就救了我们，并不是由于我们所行的义，而是照着他的怜悯，藉着重生的洗和圣灵的更新。圣灵就是神藉着我们的救主耶稣基督丰丰富富浇灌在我们身上的，使我们既然因着他的恩典得称为义，就可以凭着永生的盼望成为后嗣。

“我是微小的，可以回答你什么呢？我只好用手掩口。这说了一次，不再回答；说了二次就不再说。”

所以，我们既然因信称义，就藉着我们的主耶稣基督与神和好；我们也凭着信，藉着他可以进入现在所站的这恩典中，并且以盼望得享神的荣耀为荣。
