以色列家人、及旅以色列中之外人、凡離我而納其偶像於心、置陷罪之窒礙於前、而詣先知、諮諏於我者、我耶和華必自應之、

凡以色列族、及旅其中之異邦人、背我而奉偶像、中則崇敬之、外則瞻禮之、自陷於惡、後就先知諮諏於我、我耶和華必罰之、降災於其身、絕之於民中、為人作歌譏刺、使知我乃耶和華。

凡以色列族之人、及居以色列中之他邦客旅、若離棄我、心念其偶像、以陷己於罪之物、置於目前、後又就先知、欲藉之求問我、我耶和華必親斥之、必親斥之或作豈應之乎

“‘ When any of the Israelites or any foreigner residing in Israel separate themselves from me and set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet to inquire of me, I the Lord will answer them myself.

“‘ “Suppose any of the Israelites or any outsiders who live in Israel separate themselves from me. And they think about other gods. They fall into the evil trap of worshiping them. Then they go to a prophet to ask me for advice. If they do, I myself will tell the prophet to answer them.

For any one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel, who separates himself from me, taking his idols into his heart and putting the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to a prophet to consult me through him, I the Lord will answer him myself.

I, the Lord, will answer all those, both Israelites and foreigners, who reject me and set up idols in their hearts and so fall into sin, and who then come to a prophet asking for my advice.

For when anyone from the house of Israel or from the aliens who reside in Israel separates himself from me, setting up idols in his heart and putting his sinful stumbling block in front of himself, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of me, I, the LORD, will answer him myself.

For anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who reside in Israel, who deserts Me, sets up his idols in his heart, puts in front of his face the stumbling block of his wrongdoing, and then comes to the prophet to request something of Me for himself, I the Lord will let Myself answer him Myself.

For anyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell in Israel, who separates himself from Me and sets up his idols in his heart and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, then comes to a prophet to inquire of him concerning Me, I the Lord will answer him by Myself.

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that separateth himself from me, and taketh his idols into his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet to inquire for himself of me; I Jehovah will answer him by myself:

For when anyone from the house of Israel or from the foreigners who reside in Israel separates himself from Me, setting up idols in his heart and putting a sinful stumbling block before his face, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me, I, Yahweh, will answer him Myself.

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

For when anyone from the house of Israel, or the foreigner who lives in Israel, separates himself from me and erects his idols in his heart and sets the obstacle leading to his iniquity before his face, and then consults a prophet to seek something from me, I the LORD am determined to answer him personally.

“‘“ For everyone of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who live in Israel, who separates himself from me, and takes his idols into his heart, and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and comes to the prophet to inquire for himself of me; I Yahweh will answer him by myself.

“ A foreigner residing among you who wants to celebrate the Lord’s Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat it. (niv)

but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. (niv)

“ Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them. (niv)

“ This is what the Lord says: Do not deceive yourselves, thinking,‘ The Babylonians will surely leave us.’ They will not!Even if you were to defeat the entire Babylonian army that is attacking you and only wounded men were left in their tents, they would come out and burn this city down.” (niv)

“ Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?Therefore speak to them and tell them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry. (niv)

Then King Zedekiah sent for him and had him brought to the palace, where he asked him privately,“ Is there any word from the Lord?”“ Yes,” Jeremiah replied,“ you will be delivered into the hands of the king of Babylon.” (niv)

“ When I found Israel, it was like finding grapes in the desert; when I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the early fruit on the fig tree. But when they came to Baal Peor, they consecrated themselves to that shameful idol and became as vile as the thing they loved. (niv)

“ As for you, son of man, your people are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other,‘ Come and hear the message that has come from the Lord.’My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice. (niv)

You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the Lord your God.’” (niv)

he said to Hazael,“ Take a gift with you and go to meet the man of God. Consult the Lord through him; ask him,‘ Will I recover from this illness?’”Hazael went to meet Elisha, taking with him as a gift forty camel-loads of all the finest wares of Damascus. He went in and stood before him, and said,“ Your son Ben-Hadad king of Aram has sent me to ask,‘ Will I recover from this illness?’”Elisha answered,“ Go and say to him,‘ You will certainly recover.’ Nevertheless, the Lord has revealed to me that he will in fact die.”He stared at him with a fixed gaze until Hazael was embarrassed. Then the man of God began to weep.“ Why is my lord weeping?” asked Hazael.“ Because I know the harm you will do to the Israelites,” he answered.“ You will set fire to their fortified places, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little children to the ground, and rip open their pregnant women.”Hazael said,“ How could your servant, a mere dog, accomplish such a feat?”“ The Lord has shown me that you will become king of Aram,” answered Elisha.Then Hazael left Elisha and returned to his master. When Ben-Hadad asked,“ What did Elisha say to you?” Hazael replied,“ He told me that you would certainly recover.”But the next day he took a thick cloth, soaked it in water and spread it over the king’s face, so that he died. Then Hazael succeeded him as king. (niv)

These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. (niv)

The community is to have the same rules for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the foreigner shall be the same before the Lord: (niv)

The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malkijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said:“ Inquire now of the Lord for us because Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is attacking us. Perhaps the Lord will perform wonders for us as in times past so that he will withdraw from us.” (niv)

“‘ When any of the Israelites or any foreigner residing in Israel separate themselves from me and set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet to inquire of me, I the Lord will answer them myself.I will set my face against them and make them an example and a byword. I will remove them from my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord. (niv)

One and the same law applies to everyone who sins unintentionally, whether a native- born Israelite or a foreigner residing among you. (niv)

“ This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and not do any work— whether native- born or a foreigner residing among you— (niv)

“ I will not punish your daughters when they turn to prostitution, nor your daughters- in- law when they commit adultery, because the men themselves consort with harlots and sacrifice with shrine prostitutes— a people without understanding will come to ruin! (niv)

Zedekiah son of Josiah was made king of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; he reigned in place of Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim.Neither he nor his attendants nor the people of the land paid any attention to the words the Lord had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet.King Zedekiah, however, sent Jehukal son of Shelemiah with the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah to Jeremiah the prophet with this message:“ Please pray to the Lord our God for us.” (niv)

“ Say to the Israelites:‘ Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him. (niv)

Then King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah the prophet and had him brought to the third entrance to the temple of the Lord.“ I am going to ask you something,” the king said to Jeremiah.“ Do not hide anything from me.”Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ If I give you an answer, will you not kill me? Even if I did give you counsel, you would not listen to me.”But King Zedekiah swore this oath secretly to Jeremiah:“ As surely as the Lord lives, who has given us breath, I will neither kill you nor hand you over to those who want to kill you.”Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah,“ This is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says:‘ If you surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, your life will be spared and this city will not be burned down; you and your family will live.But if you will not surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, this city will be given into the hands of the Babylonians and they will burn it down; you yourself will not escape from them.’”King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ I am afraid of the Jews who have gone over to the Babylonians, for the Babylonians may hand me over to them and they will mistreat me.”“ They will not hand you over,” Jeremiah replied.“ Obey the Lord by doing what I tell you. Then it will go well with you, and your life will be spared.But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me:All the women left in the palace of the king of Judah will be brought out to the officials of the king of Babylon. Those women will say to you:“‘ They misled you and overcame you— those trusted friends of yours. Your feet are sunk in the mud; your friends have deserted you.’“ All your wives and children will be brought out to the Babylonians. You yourself will not escape from their hands but will be captured by the king of Babylon; and this city will be burned down.” (niv)
