“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Return! Turn from your idols, and turn your faces away from your abominations.

「所以你要告訴以色列家說：『主耶和華如此說：回頭吧！離開你們的偶像，轉臉莫從你們一切可憎的事。』

「所以你要對以色列家說：『主耶和華如此說：回轉吧！回轉離開你們的偶像，轉臉離開一切可憎的事。』

「所以你要對以色列家說：『主耶和華如此說：回轉吧！回轉離開你們的偶像，轉臉離開一切可憎的事。』

「因此，你要告訴以色列人，主耶和華這樣說，『你們要悔改，離棄你們的偶像，離棄那些可憎之事。

“因此，你要對以色列家說：‘主耶和華這樣說：回轉吧！轉離你們的偶像！轉臉離棄你們一切可憎之物吧！

『故此你要對以色列家說：主永恆主這麼說：回轉吧！轉離你們的偶像哦！轉臉離開你們一切可厭惡之像吧！

當告以色列家曰、主耶和華云、爾宜轉離爾之偶像、反背可惡之事、

當告以色列族曰、主耶和華命爾棄偶像、勿崇可惡之物、

故爾當告以色列族曰、主天主如是云、爾曹當悔改、轉離偶像、勿崇事勿崇事原文作面不向、可憎之物、轉離偶像勿崇事可憎之物或作棄偶像而歸誠轉離可憎之物

“ Therefore say to the people of Israel,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!

“ So speak to the people of Israel. Tell them,‘ The Lord and King says,“ Turn away from your sins! Also turn away from your gods. Give up all the evil things you have done. I hate them.

“ Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

“ Therefore, tell the people of Israel,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent and turn away from your idols, and stop all your detestable sins.

“ Therefore, say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Repent and turn away from your idols; turn your faces away from all your detestable things.

“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.

“ Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ Repent, turn away from your idols, and turn your faces away from all your abominations.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

“ Therefore, say to the house of Israel: This is what the Lord God says: Repent and turn away from your idols; turn your faces away from all your detestable things.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn[ yourselves] from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

“ Therefore tell the house of Israel,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Return, and turn yourselves from your idols! Turn away your faces from all your abominations.

“ Therefore I will judge each person according to his conduct, O house of Israel, declares the sovereign LORD. Repent and turn from all your wickedness; then it will not be an obstacle leading to iniquity.

At that time men will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made for themselves to worship, into the caves where rodents and bats live,

You will desecrate your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away as if they were a menstrual rag, saying to them,“ Get out!”

Samuel said to all the people of Israel,“ If you are really turning to the LORD with all your hearts, remove from among you the foreign gods and the images of Ashtoreth. Give your hearts to the LORD and serve only him. Then he will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

So what benefit did you then reap from those things that you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death.

Why, then, do these people of Jerusalem continually turn away from me in apostasy? They hold fast to their deception. They refuse to turn back to me.I have listened to them very carefully, but they do not speak honestly. None of them regrets the evil he has done. None of them says,“ I have done wrong!” All of them persist in their own wayward course like a horse charging recklessly into battle.

Seek the LORD while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby!The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle and sinful people their plans. They should return to the LORD, and he will show mercy to them, and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.

Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double- minded.Grieve, mourn, and weep. Turn your laughter into mourning and your joy into despair.Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.

Therefore speak to them and say to them,‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: When any one from the house of Israel erects his idols in his heart and sets the obstacle leading to his iniquity before his face, and then consults a prophet, I the LORD am determined to answer him personally according to the enormity of his idolatry.

I have indeed heard the people of Israel say mournfully,‘ We were like a calf untrained to the yoke. You disciplined us and we learned from it. Let us come back to you and we will do so, for you are the LORD our God.For after we turned away from you we repented. After we came to our senses we beat our breasts in sorrow. We are ashamed and humiliated because of the disgraceful things we did previously.’Indeed, the people of Israel are my dear children. They are the children I take delight in. For even though I must often rebuke them, I still remember them with fondness. So I am deeply moved with pity for them and will surely have compassion on them. I, the LORD, affirm it!

Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for your sin has been your downfall!Return to the LORD and repent! Say to him:“ Completely forgive our iniquity; accept our penitential prayer, that we may offer the praise of our lips as sacrificial bulls.Assyria cannot save us; we will not ride warhorses. We will never again say,‘ Our gods’ to what our own hands have made. For only you will show compassion to Orphan Israel!”

Then you will remember, be ashamed, and remain silent when I make atonement for all you have done, declares the sovereign LORD.’”

“ When that time comes,” says the LORD,“ the people of Israel and Judah will return to the land together. They will come back with tears of repentance as they seek the LORD their God.They will ask the way to Zion; they will turn their faces toward it. They will come and bind themselves to the LORD in a lasting covenant that will never be forgotten.

but I declared to those in Damascus first, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds consistent with repentance.

Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out,

Therefore produce fruit that proves your repentance,and don’t think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!Even now the ax is laid at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

O Ephraim, I do not want to have anything to do with idols anymore! I will answer him and care for him. I am like a luxuriant cypress tree; your fruitfulness comes from me!

Then he brought me to the inner court of the LORD’s house. Right there at the entrance to the LORD’s temple, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the LORD’s temple, facing east– they were worshiping the sun toward the east!

In that day you will not be ashamed of all your rebelliousness against me, for then I will remove from your midst those who proudly boast, and you will never again be arrogant on my holy hill.

Please recall the word you commanded your servant Moses:‘ If you act unfaithfully, I will scatter you among the nations.But if you repent and obey my commandments and do them, then even if your dispersed people are in the most remote location, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen for my name to reside.’

For our fathers were unfaithful; they did what is evil in the sight of the LORD our God and abandoned him! They turned away from the LORD’s dwelling place and rejected him.

He issued a proclamation and said,“ In Nineveh, by the decree of the king and his nobles: No human or animal, cattle or sheep, is to taste anything; they must not eat and they must not drink water.Every person and animal must put on sackcloth and must cry earnestly to God, and everyone must turn from their evil way of living and from the violence that they do.Who knows? Perhaps God might be willing to change his mind and relent and turn from his fierce anger so that we might not die.”

Therefore, although God has overlooked such times of ignorance, he now commands all people everywhere to repent,

People of Jerusalem, I have seen your adulterous worship, your shameless prostitution to, and your lustful pursuit of, other gods. I have seen your disgusting acts of worship on the hills throughout the countryside. You are doomed to destruction! How long will you continue to be unclean?’”

When your people come to their senses in the land where they are held prisoner, they will repent and beg for your mercy in the land of their imprisonment, admitting,‘ We have sinned and gone astray; we have done evil.’When they return to you with all their heart and being in the land where they are held prisoner, and direct their prayers to you toward the land you gave to their ancestors, your chosen city, and the temple I built for your honor,then listen from your heavenly dwelling place to their prayers for help and vindicate them.

Why should any living person complain when punished for his sins?נ( Nun)Let us carefully examine our ways, and let us return to the LORD.Let us lift up our hearts and our hands to God in heaven:

Then you will remember your evil behavior and your deeds which were not good; you will loathe yourselves on account of your sins and your abominable deeds.Understand that it is not for your sake I am about to act, declares the sovereign LORD. Be ashamed and embarrassed by your behavior, O house of Israel.
