雖斯三人居其中、我耶和華指己而誓、其國荒蕪之日、彼止能救一己之命、不能救其子女。

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.

And suppose these three men were in that country. Then they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved. But the land would become a dry and empty desert. And that is just as sure as I am alive,” announces the Lord and King.

當上帝翦滅平原、傾覆羅得所居之邑時、眷念亞伯拉罕、拯羅得出於災、

我仇見絕、其富有火盡燬之、

雖此三人居其中、我耶和華指己而誓、彼止能救一己之命、不能救其子女。

挪亞得上帝默示未來之事、信而畏之、遂造方舟、以救其眷屬、於是挪亞罪此世、信而得稱義、

犯者必死、子不負父罪、父不負子罪、善者必獲善報、惡者必獲惡報。

雖挪亞、但以理、約百三人旅其中、躬行仁義、亦止救一己之生命而已。

保羅勿懼、爾必立該撒前、上帝以舟眾賜爾、

我又語汝、倘爾二人、契合於地、則不諭何求、我天父必成之、有二三人、為我名、隨地而集者、我亦在其中矣、○

宜各自言其罪、代之祈禱、以望疾瘳、蓋義者勤求無已、獲益不淺、

雖有挪亞、但以理、約百居其中、我耶和華指己而誓、彼為善者止能救一己之命、不能救其子女。

當告之云、我指己而誓、爾之所言、我必行之、爾出言怨我、故所見核者、自二十歲以上、俱暴骨於野、

即之曰、為善為惡者、豈可槩滅之乎。邑中或有五十義人、則邑之人、豈可盡滅、何不緣義人、而赦其罪乎、並誅善惡不可、待善惡相等亦不可、鞫天下者、豈不行義乎。耶和華曰、所多馬邑如有五十義人、我必緣此赦其一方。亞伯拉罕曰、吾雖若纖塵、而敢上告、浸假而五十義者、缺其五、豈因是滅此一邑乎。曰、如有四十五人、則亦弗滅。曰、四十人則何如。曰、四十人、吾亦弗行是。曰、主毋怒、我有一言、若三十人則何如。曰、三十人、亦弗行是。曰我敢上告、浸假二十人、則何如。曰、二十人、我亦不滅。曰主毋怒、敢復進一辭而後已、或止十人、則何如。曰、十人吾亦弗滅。耶和華言竟而往、亞伯拉罕乃歸。

然主耶和華曰、我指己而誓、我不以人作惡致死為悅、惟以人悛惡得生為悅、故爾以色列家當改厥惡、何必蹈於死亡、
