作善者流、我不使之殷憂、爾述妄誕、使彼中心戚戚、維彼惡人、爾言必生、使心剛愎、恆作惡事、終不悛改、

我不使义人伤心，你们却以谎话使他伤心，又坚固恶人的手，使他不回头离开恶道得以救活。

我未曾使义人伤心，你们却以谎话使他伤心，且又坚固恶人的手，不使他回转离开恶道得以存活。

我未曾使义人伤心，你们却以谎话使他伤心，且又坚固恶人的手，不使他回转离开恶道得以存活。

我没有使义人忧伤，你们却以谎言叫他们灰心。你们怂恿恶人不要改邪归正，以致他们丧命。

我没有使义人灰心，你们却用谎言使他们灰心，又坚固恶人的手，使他们不转离恶道而得拯救。

我不使義人傷心，你們卻以謊話使他傷心，又堅固惡人的手，使他不回頭離開惡道得以救活。

我未曾使義人傷心，你們卻以謊話使他傷心，且又堅固惡人的手，不使他回轉離開惡道得以存活。

我沒有使義人憂傷，你們卻以謊言叫他們灰心。你們慫恿惡人不要改邪歸正，以致他們喪命。

我沒有使義人灰心，你們卻用謊言使他們灰心，又堅固惡人的手，使他們不轉離惡道而得拯救。

因為你們弄虛假事叫義人灰心（並不是我使他灰心），你們又加強惡人的手，使他不回轉離開壞行徑以救活自己，

惟彼義人、我未使之殷憂、爾以妄誕使之心戚、亦堅惡人之手、致不轉離邪途、而得生存、

惟彼善人、我不使之憂、爾言妄誕、使彼中心憂戚、又使惡人膽敢不忌、俾不離惡道、不得生存、

Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil ways and so save their lives,

I had not made godly people sad. But when you told them lies, you made them lose all hope. You advised sinful people not to turn from their evil ways. You did not want them to save their lives.

Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and you have encouraged the wicked, that he should not turn from his evil way to save his life,

You have discouraged the righteous with your lies, but I didn’t want them to be sad. And you have encouraged the wicked by promising them life, even though they continue in their sins.

Because you have disheartened the righteous person with lies( when I intended no distress), and because you have supported the wicked person so that he does not turn from his evil way to save his life,

Because you disheartened the righteous with falsehood when I did not cause him pain, but you have encouraged the wicked not to turn from his wicked way to keep him alive,

“ Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life.

Because with lies ye have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad, and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive;

Because you have disheartened the righteous person with lies, even though I have not caused him grief, and because you have encouraged the wicked person not to turn from his evil way to save his life,

Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

This is because you have disheartened the righteous person with lies( although I have not grieved him), and because you have encouraged the wicked person not to turn from his evil conduct and preserve his life.

Because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive.

耶路撒冷之先知、更堪痛疾、行淫詭譎、俾作惡者流、厥志孔強、不悛厥行、予鑒察之、視若所多馬蛾摩拉之人無異。

有人藐視予、彼託我命、言必獲平康、有人縱私欲、彼言必不遇害。

耶利米曰、主耶和華與、諸偽先知曾告斯民、必不飲刃、不受饑、安居斯土、永獲平康、出於耶和華所賜。耶和華曰、維彼先知、託我之名、普傳妄誕、我未嘗遣之、亦未嘗降諭、彼所言者、虛偽之異象、無憑之卜筮、中心所思之幻境。今我頒詔、諭彼偽先知之事、彼未嘗奉我所遣、猶託我名而告民云、斯土必無鋒刃饑饉之虞、彼先知必以鋒刃饑饉殲滅之。凡從其言者、必飲刃受饑、陳尸於耶路撒冷逵衢、以及妻室子女、無人瘞埋、蓋我使之慘罹惡報。爾以我言播告於民、耶利米曰、斯民遭難孔艱、可為晝夜痛哭流涕也。

耶利米曰、主耶和華與、爾曾告耶路撒冷民曰、可得平康。今反飲刃、害及生命、言既不應、寧非欺予。

醫民之傷、不過皮毛、謂有平康、平康不至。

素有不為乖謬所囿者、今為偽師矜誇、虛誕、縱欲、邪侈所惑、勝我者、吾為之奴、偽師從惡、則亦為惡之奴、反以自由許弟子、

如惡人悛改素行、守我禮儀、孳孳為義、則可保生、不就死地、

故耶和華曰、爾既教民、逆予所命、故爾死期必在今年、不留於世。

蛇曰、汝未必死。上帝知食之之日、爾目必明、能辨善惡、彷佛上帝。

耶利米以眾先知行惡、中心憂傷、筋骸震動、又得耶和華聖言傳示、有若醉人、迷眩於酒。

我民流亡、孩提之子、哺乳之兒、喪於逵衢兮、我目流涕、中心惻怛、不啻肝腦之塗地兮。赤子如傷、仆於逵衢、失魂於母懷、乃詰母曰百穀旨酒安在兮。耶路撒冷之民、郇邑之女、爾之禍患、大若滄海、孰能醫爾兮、予將何詞何譬、用慰爾心矣。爾之先知所傳、惟虛惟狂、未癉爾惡、免爾見虜、彼之所述、惟尚妄誕、以惑人兮。

我言惡人必死、如彼悛改、惟善是行。受人質則反之、盜人物則償之、不復為惡、遵我法度、以望得生、則生命可保、死所不臨。不復念其舊惡、因彼眾善奉行、則必獲生。

醫民之傷、不過皮毛、謂有平康、平康不至。

故我云、必罰之、爰及苗裔、彼使人違我、故我錫福於斯民、彼不得享、彼之子孫、必絕滅於民間。

惟彼先知、言爾不必服事巴比倫王、所言誕妄、爾勿聽從。耶和華未遣之、彼藉其名、所言詭譎、如爾信從、耶和華必驅爾、爰及先知與爾偕亡。耶利米告祭司庶民曰、耶和華云、先知有言、巴比倫不久必返我殿之重器、斯言荒誕、爾勿信之。當服事巴比倫王、而得生、何必逆命、使斯邑傾圮。
