This is because you have disheartened the righteous person with lies( although I have not grieved him), and because you have encouraged the wicked person not to turn from his evil conduct and preserve his life.

我不使義人傷心，你們卻以謊話使他傷心，又堅固惡人的手，使他不回頭離開惡道得以救活。

我沒有使義人灰心，你們卻用謊言使他們灰心，又堅固惡人的手，使他們不轉離惡道而得拯救。

因為你們弄虛假事叫義人灰心（並不是我使他灰心），你們又加強惡人的手，使他不回轉離開壞行徑以救活自己，

惟彼義人、我未使之殷憂、爾以妄誕使之心戚、亦堅惡人之手、致不轉離邪途、而得生存、

作善者流、我不使之殷憂、爾述妄誕、使彼中心戚戚、維彼惡人、爾言必生、使心剛愎、恆作惡事、終不悛改、

惟彼善人、我不使之憂、爾言妄誕、使彼中心憂戚、又使惡人膽敢不忌、俾不離惡道、不得生存、

Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil ways and so save their lives,

I had not made godly people sad. But when you told them lies, you made them lose all hope. You advised sinful people not to turn from their evil ways. You did not want them to save their lives.

Because you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and you have encouraged the wicked, that he should not turn from his evil way to save his life,

You have discouraged the righteous with your lies, but I didn’t want them to be sad. And you have encouraged the wicked by promising them life, even though they continue in their sins.

Because you have disheartened the righteous person with lies( when I intended no distress), and because you have supported the wicked person so that he does not turn from his evil way to save his life,

Because you disheartened the righteous with falsehood when I did not cause him pain, but you have encouraged the wicked not to turn from his wicked way to keep him alive,

“ Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life.

Because with lies ye have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad, and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive;

Because you have disheartened the righteous person with lies, even though I have not caused him grief, and because you have encouraged the wicked person not to turn from his evil way to save his life,

Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

Because with lies you have grieved the heart of the righteous, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, and be saved alive.

But I see the prophets of Jerusalem doing something just as shocking. They are unfaithful to me and continually prophesy lies. So they give encouragement to people who are doing evil, with the result that they do not stop their evildoing. I consider all of them as bad as the people of Sodom, and the citizens of Jerusalem as bad as the people of Gomorrah.

They continually say to those who reject what the LORD has said,‘ Things will go well for you!’ They say to all those who follow the stubborn inclinations of their own hearts,‘ Nothing bad will happen to you!’

The LORD said to him,“ Go through the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of the people who moan and groan over all the abominations practiced in it.”

those prophets of Israel who would prophesy about Jerusalem and would see visions of peace for it, when there was no peace,” declares the sovereign LORD.’

Then I said,“ Oh, Lord GOD, look! The prophets are telling them that you said,‘ You will not experience war or suffer famine. I will give you lasting peace and prosperity in this land.’”Then the LORD said to me,“ Those prophets are prophesying lies while claiming my authority! I did not send them. I did not commission them. I did not speak to them. They are prophesying to these people false visions, worthless predictions, and the delusions of their own mind.I did not send those prophets, though they claim to be prophesying in my name. They may be saying,‘ No war or famine will happen in this land.’ But I, the LORD, say this about them:‘ War and starvation will kill those prophets.’The people to whom they are prophesying will die through war and famine. Their bodies will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem and there will be no one to bury them. This will happen to the men and their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out on them the destruction they deserve.”“ Tell these people this, Jeremiah:‘ My eyes overflow with tears day and night without ceasing. For my people, my dear children, have suffered a crushing blow. They have suffered a serious wound.

In response to all this I said,“ Ah, Lord GOD, you have surely allowed the people of Judah and Jerusalem to be deceived by those who say,‘ You will be safe!’ But in fact a sword is already at our throats.”

They offer only superficial help for the harm my people have suffered. They say,‘ Everything will be all right!’ But everything is not all right!

For by speaking high- sounding but empty words they are able to entice, with fleshly desires and with debauchery, people who have just escaped from those who reside in error.Although these false teachers promise such people freedom, they themselves are enslaved to immorality. For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved.

“ But if the wicked person turns from all the sin he has committed and observes all my statutes and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.

So the LORD says,‘ I will most assuredly remove you from the face of the earth. You will die this very year because you have counseled rebellion against the LORD.’”

The serpent said to the woman,“ Surely you will not die,for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil.”

Here is what the LORD says concerning the false prophets: My heart and my mind are deeply disturbed. I tremble all over. I am like a drunk person, like a person who has had too much wine, because of the way the LORD and his holy word are being mistreated.

My eyes are worn out from weeping; my stomach is in knots. My heart is poured out on the ground due to the destruction of my helpless people; children and infants faint in the town squares.ל( Lamed)Children say to their mothers,“ Where are food and drink?” They faint like a wounded warrior in the city squares. They die slowly in their mothers’ arms.מ( Mem)With what can I equate you? To what can I compare you, O Daughter Jerusalem? To what can I liken you so that I might comfort you, O Virgin Daughter Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you?נ( Nun)Your prophets saw visions for you that were worthless lies. They failed to expose your sin so as to restore your fortunes. They saw oracles for you that were worthless lies.ס( Samek)

Suppose I say to the wicked,‘ You must certainly die,’ but he turns from his sin and does what is just and right.He returns what was taken in pledge, pays back what he has stolen, and follows the statutes that give life, committing no iniquity. He will certainly live– he will not die.None of the sins he has committed will be counted against him. He has done what is just and right; he will certainly live.

They offer only superficial help for the hurt my dear people have suffered. They say,“ Everything will be all right!” But everything is not all right!

Because he has done this,” the LORD says,“ I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his whole family. There will not be any of them left to experience the good things that I will do for my people. I, the LORD, affirm it! For he counseled rebellion against the LORD.”’”

Do not listen to the prophets who are telling you that you do not need to serve the king of Babylon. For they are prophesying lies to you.For I, the LORD, affirm that I did not send them. They are prophesying lies to you. If you listen to them, I will drive you and the prophets who are prophesying lies out of the land and you will all die in exile.”I also told the priests and all the people,“ The LORD says,‘ Do not listen to what your prophets are saying. They are prophesying to you that the valuable articles taken from the LORD’s temple will be brought back from Babylon very soon. But they are prophesying a lie to you.Do not listen to them. Be subject to the king of Babylon. Then you will continue to live. Why should this city be made a pile of rubble?’”
