因为他们欺骗我的子民说，‘平安！’其实并没有平安，就像有人筑了一道薄墙，用白灰加以粉饰。

因为他们迷惑了我的子民，说：‘平安了。’其实没有平安。有人筑起薄墙的时候，他们就用灰泥粉刷那墙。

因為他們誘惑我的百姓，說：『平安！』其實沒有平安，就像有人立起牆壁，他們倒用未泡透的灰抹上。

他們誘惑我的百姓，說：『平安！』其實沒有平安，就像有人築牆壁，看哪，他們倒去粉刷它。

因為他們欺騙我的子民說，『平安！』其實並沒有平安，就像有人築了一道薄牆，用白灰加以粉飾。

因為他們迷惑了我的子民，說：‘平安了。’其實沒有平安。有人築起薄牆的時候，他們就用灰泥粉刷那牆。

因為他們真地領導我人民走錯了路，說：「平安」，其實沒有平安。就像人、築了薄弱的牆，假神言人倒用灰水去塗抹。

蓋彼誘惑我民、謂曰平康、實無平康、人築垣墉、彼以不堅之泥塗之、

蓋彼先知、誘惑我民、謂有平康、平康不至、若作垣墉、一人築之、而他人以不堅緻之泥塗之。

因彼誘惑我民、無平康之時、反言有平康、猶如我民築墻、彼乃塗灰、

“‘ Because they lead my people astray, saying,“ Peace,” when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash,

“‘ “They lead my people away from me. They say,‘ Peace.’ But there isn’t any peace. They are like people who build a weak wall. They try to cover up the weakness by painting the wall white.

Precisely because they have misled my people, saying,‘ Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewash,

“ This will happen because these evil prophets deceive my people by saying,‘ All is peaceful’ when there is no peace at all! It’s as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to reinforce it by covering it with whitewash!

“‘ Since they have led my people astray by saying,“ Peace,” when there is no peace, and since when a flimsy wall is being built, they plaster it with whitewash,

It is definitely because they have misled My people by saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace. And when anyone builds a wall, behold, they plaster it over with whitewash;

“ Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying,‘ Peace!’ when there is no peace— and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar—

Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there is no peace; and when one buildeth up a wall, behold, they daub it with untempered mortar:

“ Since they have led My people astray saying,‘ Peace,’ when there is no peace, for when someone builds a wall they plaster it with whitewash,

Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and[ there was] no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered[ morter]:

“‘ This is because they have led my people astray saying,“ All is well,” when things are not well. When anyone builds a wall without mortar, they coat it with whitewash.

“‘ Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying,“ Peace;” and there is no peace. When one builds up a wall, behold, they plaster it with whitewash.

這就是以色列的先知，他們指着耶路撒冷說預言，見到這城平安的異象，其實沒有平安。這是主耶和華說的。」

其中的先知為他們粉刷，見虛假的異象，行謊詐的占卜，說：『主耶和華如此說』，其實耶和華並沒有說。

他們輕忽地醫治我百姓的損傷，說：『平安了！平安了！』其實沒有平安。

我就說：「唉！主耶和華，看哪，那些先知常對他們說：『你們必不見刀劍，也不遭饑荒；耶和華要在這地方賞賜你們真正的平安。』」

他們輕忽地醫治我百姓的損傷，說：『平安了！平安了！』其實沒有平安。

他們卻不聽從，並且瑪拿西引誘他們行惡，比耶和華在以色列人面前所滅的列國更嚴重。

現在，我們稱狂傲的人為有福，並且行惡的人得以建立；他們雖然試探神，卻得以逃脫。」

我的神說：「惡人必不得平安！」

只是作惡的和騙人的將變本加厲，迷惑人也被人迷惑。

至於那預言平安的先知，到先知的話應驗的時候，人就知道他真是耶和華所差來的。」

就是先知說假預言，祭司把權柄抓在自己手上，我的百姓也喜愛這樣，到了結局你們要怎麼辦呢？」

他們常對藐視我的人說：『耶和華說：你們必享平安』又對一切按自己頑梗之心而行的人說：『災禍必不臨到你們。』」

我們指望平安，卻得不着福氣；指望痊癒時刻，看哪，受了驚惶。

我說：「哀哉！主耶和華啊，你真是大大欺哄這百姓和耶路撒冷，說：『你們必得平安。』其實刀劍已經抵住喉嚨了！」

若有人心存虛假，用謊言說：「我向你們傳講可得清酒和烈酒」，那人就必作這百姓的傳講者。

聖靈明說，在末後的時期必有人離棄信仰，去聽信那誘惑人的邪靈和鬼魔的教訓。

我的百姓成了失喪的羊，牧人使他們走迷了路，轉入叢山之間。他們從大山走到小山，竟忘了自己安歇之處。

我將這些話寫給你們，是論到那些迷惑你們的人說的。

然而，有一件事我要責備你，就是你容忍那自稱是先知的婦人耶洗別教唆我的僕人，引誘他們犯淫亂，吃祭過偶像之物。

義人引導他的鄰舍；惡人的道叫人迷失。

他們對先見說：「不要再看了」；對先知說：「不要向我們預言正直的事；要對我們說好聽的話，預言虛幻的事。

我在撒瑪利亞的先知中曾見狂妄的事；他們藉巴力說預言，使我的百姓以色列走迷了路。我在耶路撒冷的先知中曾見恐怖的事；他們犯姦淫，行虛謊，又堅固惡人的手，無人回轉離開自己的惡行。他們在我面前都像所多瑪，耶路撒冷的居民都像蛾摩拉。因此，萬軍之耶和華論到先知如此說：「看哪，我必使他們吃茵蔯，喝苦水；因為褻瀆的事出於耶路撒冷的先知，遍及各地。」

那去召米該雅的使者對他說：「看哪，眾先知都異口同聲向王說吉言，你也跟他們說一樣的話，說吉言吧！」

毀滅來到；他們求平安，卻沒有平安。
