Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me, and he told me to say:“ This is what the Lord says: That is what you are saying, you leaders in Israel, but I know what is going through your mind.

Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me. He told me to tell them,“ The Lord says,‘ You leaders in Israel, that is what you are saying. But I know what you are thinking.

And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and he said to me,“ Say, Thus says the Lord: So you think, O house of Israel. For I know the things that come into your mind.

Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon me, and he told me to say,“ This is what the Lord says to the people of Israel: I know what you are saying, for I know every thought that comes into your minds.

Then the Spirit of the LORD came on me, and he told me,“ You are to say,‘ This is what the LORD says: That is what you are thinking, house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your mind.

Then the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and He said to me,“ Say,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ This is how you think, house of Israel, for I know your thoughts.

Then the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said to me,“ Speak!‘ Thus says the Lord:“ Thus you have said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

And the Spirit of Jehovah fell upon me, and he said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me, and He told me,“ You are to say: This is what the Lord says: That is what you are thinking, house of Israel; and I know the thoughts that arise in your mind.

And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind,[ every one of] them.

Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon me and said to me,“ Say: This is what the LORD says:‘ This is what you are thinking, O house of Israel; I know what goes through your minds.

Yahweh’s Spirit fell on me, and he said to me,“ Speak,‘ Yahweh says:“ Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

“ I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

“ And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

“ Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ In the pride of your heart you say,“ I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.

Speak to him and say:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, you great monster lying among your streams. You say,“ The Nile belongs to me; I made it for myself.”

The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’And whether they listen or fail to listen— for they are a rebellious people— they will know that a prophet has been among them.

Then the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet. He spoke to me and said:“ Go, shut yourself inside your house.

“ Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

When you did these things and I kept silent, you thought I was exactly like you. But I now arraign you and set my accusations before you.

The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme.You will say,“ I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people— all of them living without walls and without gates and bars.

In the sixth year, in the sixth month on the fifth day, while I was sitting in my house and the elders of Judah were sitting before me, the hand of the Sovereign Lord came on me there.

Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure— you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts.

I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

Go now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.”

You boast,“ We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.”

When he and his servant arrived at Gibeah, a procession of prophets met him; the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him, and he joined in their prophesying.

But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them,‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says.’ Whoever will listen let them listen, and whoever will refuse let them refuse; for they are a rebellious people.

Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke with him, and he took some of the power of the Spirit that was on him and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied— but did not do so again.However, two men, whose names were Eldad and Medad, had remained in the camp. They were listed among the elders, but did not go out to the tent. Yet the Spirit also rested on them, and they prophesied in the camp.

Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them,“ Why are you thinking these things?

“ As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.

And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said,“ He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables:“ How can Satan drive out Satan?If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”He said this because they were saying,“ He has an impure spirit.”

“ You have spoken arrogantly against me,” says the Lord.“ Yet you ask,‘ What have we said against you?’“ You have said,‘ It is futile to serve God. What do we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the Lord Almighty?

The third time he said to him,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep.

But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people.He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.
