雅各就给那地方起名为毗努伊勒，因为他说：“我面对面看见了神，但我的性命得以保住。”

亚伯拉罕又说：“看哪，我再次斗胆向我主说，假如在那里找到二十个呢？”耶和华说：“因这二十个的缘故，我也不会毁灭那城。”
