If you refuse, my powerful hand will bring a terrible plague on you. I will strike your livestock in the fields. I will strike your horses, donkeys, camels, cattle, sheep and goats.

behold, the hand of the Lord will fall with a very severe plague upon your livestock that are in the field, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks.

耶和华重重地惩罚亚实突及附近村庄的居民，使他们都患上毒疮。亚实突人见此情形，就说：“以色列上帝的约柜不能留在我们这里，因为上帝重重地惩罚我们和我们的大衮神。”亚实突人召集了非利士所有的首领，问他们：“我们如何处理以色列上帝的约柜？”他们答道：“把它送到迦特去。”于是，众人把以色列上帝的约柜送到迦特。约柜抵达迦特的时候，耶和华攻击那城，使那里的男女老少都患了毒疮，全城惊恐不已。于是，他们把约柜送往以革伦。以革伦的人看见上帝的约柜到了，就惊叫道：“他们把以色列上帝的约柜带来是要害死我们和我们的人民！”他们派人召集非利士的首领，说：“把以色列上帝的约柜送回原处吧，免得它杀害我们和我们的人民。”因为上帝重重地惩罚他们，全城都笼罩在死亡的恐惧中。

你们要留意观察，如果车朝以色列边境的伯·示麦去，这大灾难就是耶和华降给我们的。如果不朝那方向走，我们就知道不是祂惩罚我们，是偶然发生的。”
