時巴比倫王之軍旅、攻耶路撒冷及猶大所餘之城邑、即拉吉、亞西加、猶大鞏固之城、惟留此二城、○西底家王與耶路撒冷民眾立約、宣告釋放之例、厥後主有言諭耶利米、所約者、即人各釋放為奴婢之希伯來男女、任其自由、勿使同族猶大人為奴、奉約之諸侯伯及民眾、聞人各當釋其奴婢、任其自由、毋復使供役、皆遵言釋之、既而後悔、以所釋任意自由之奴婢、復使之歸、強之仍為奴婢、

法老心剛愎、不肯聽之、果如主所言、主諭摩西曰、法老心剛愎、不肯釋以色列民

主諭摩西曰、爾至伊及時當慎、我所命爾原文作我所付於爾手諸異跡、必行於法老前、但我必使之使之或作聽之下同剛愎其心、不釋以色列民、

經云、爾今日若聽主之言、則勿剛愎爾心、如在激主怒之時、

如昔民之激主怒、即在曠野試主之時、

或告伊及王曰、以色列民逃遁、法老與其群臣、變其心欲害斯民曰、我儕釋以色列人、致其不復役事於我、我何為行此、

惟彼不從、背逆頑梗、塞耳不聽、剛愎厥心、同於金剛石、不聽律法、不聽萬有之主、以其神藉古先知所諭之之言、或作剛愎其心同於金剛石不聽律法不聽萬有之主以其神藉古先知諭彼惟彼不聽其言故萬有之主震怒特甚、

人屢受譴責、仍強厥項、必忽敗亡、無法可治之、

人為炎熱所曝、遂謗讟有權降此諸災之天主之名、且不悔改、不以榮歸天主、

主曰、以法蓮乎、我將如何待爾、猶大乎、我將如何待爾、爾之善良、善良或作虔敬猶若朝雲、亦若晨露、立時消散、
