也不要拜偶像，像他们中有些人曾经拜过。如经上所记：“百姓坐下吃喝，起来玩乐。”

这些女子请百姓一同为她们的神明献祭，百姓吃了祭物，跪拜她们的神明。

非利士人的领袖聚集，要向他们的神明大衮献大祭，并且庆祝，说：“我们的神明把我们的仇敌参孙交在我们手中了。”众人看见参孙，就赞美他们的神明说：“我们的神明把那毁坏我们的地、杀害我们许多人的仇敌交在我们手中了。”他们心里高兴的时候，就说：“叫参孙来，逗我们欢乐。”于是他们把参孙从监狱里提出来，在他们面前戏耍。他们叫他站在两根柱子中间。

那时，他们造了一个牛犊，又拿祭物献给那像，为自己手所做的工作欢跃。但是神转脸不顾，任凭他们祭拜天上的日月星辰，正如先知书上所写的：‘以色列家啊，你们四十年间在旷野，何曾将牺牲和祭物献给我？

住在地上的人会因他们而欢喜快乐，互相馈送礼物，因为这两位先知曾使住在地上的人受痛苦。

他们在各祭坛旁边，躺卧在人所典当的衣服上，又在他们神的殿里喝受罚之人的酒。

约书亚一听见百姓呼喊的声音，就对摩西说：“在营里有战争的声音。”摩西说：“这不是打胜仗的声音，也不是打败仗的声音，我听见的是歌唱的声音。”摩西走近营前，看见牛犊，又看见人在跳舞，就发烈怒，把两块版从手中扔到山下摔碎了。

“我要使你们的节期变为悲哀，你们一切的歌曲变为哀歌；我要使众人腰束麻布，头上光秃；我要使这悲哀如丧独子，其结局如悲痛的日子。

摩西将耶和华一切的命令都写下来。他清早起来，在山脚筑了一座坛，按着以色列十二支派立了十二根石柱。他差派以色列的年轻人去献燔祭，又宰牛献给耶和华为平安祭。
