And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for[ as for] this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

民見摩西遲迴於山不下、則集於亞倫前曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、

民見摩西遲回於山不下、則集亞倫前、曰摩西率我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。

民見摩西遲延不下山、遂紛集於亞倫前、曰、起、為我儕造神、可為我前導、蓋導我儕出伊及之摩西、不知其何遇、

When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said,“ Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

The people saw that Moses took a long time to come down from the mountain. So they gathered around Aaron. They said to him,“ Come. Make us a god that will lead us. This fellow Moses brought us up out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him,“ Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron.“ Come on,” they said,“ make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we don’t know what has happened to him!”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make us a god who will go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we do not know what happened to him.”

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as[ they were] from the beginning of the creation.

When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone,[ even] the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:

But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for[ as for] this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

And he said, My presence shall go[ with thee], and I will give thee rest.And he said unto him, If thy presence go not[ with me], carry us not up hence.

For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights,[ that] the LORD gave me the two tables of stone,[ even] the tables of the covenant.And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted[ themselves]; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted[ themselves]:

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

And they said unto Moses, Because[ there were] no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?

[ And] when they were gone out of the city,[ and] not[ yet] far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good?

Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day[ that] the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:Lest ye corrupt[ yourselves], and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,The likeness of any beast that[ is] on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that[ is] in the waters beneath the earth:

Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou[ art] a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.

Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel,[ There is] an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.

And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.

But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what[ is] with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

And Joseph said unto them, What deed[ is] this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine?

And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots,[ and] when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness[ of any thing] that[ is] in heaven above, or that[ is] in the earth beneath, or that[ is] in the water under the earth:Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God[ am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth[ generation] of them that hate me;

But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I[ of it], but to day.

Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
