For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.

到第七日，上帝已经完成了造物之工，就在第七日安息了，歇了他所做一切的工。

“六日你要做工，第七日要安息，即使在耕种或收割的时候也要安息。

“你们若留意听从我，在安息日不挑什么担子进入这城的各门，只以安息日为圣日，在那日不做任何工作，这是耶和华说的，就必有坐大卫宝座的君王和领袖，与犹大人，并耶路撒冷的居民，或坐车，或骑马，进入这城的各门，而且这城必存到永远。也必有人从犹大城镇和耶路撒冷四围的各处，从便雅悯地、谢非拉、山区，并尼革夫而来，都带燔祭和祭物，素祭和乳香，并感谢祭，到耶和华的殿去。你们若不听从我，不以安息日为圣日，仍在安息日挑担子进入耶路撒冷的各城门，我必在城门中点火；这火必烧毁耶路撒冷的宫殿，不会熄灭。”

她们就回去，预备了香料香膏。在安息日，她们遵照诫命安息了。

六日要做工，第七日你们要奉为向耶和华守完全安息的安息圣日。凡在这日做工的，要被处死。

“当记念安息日，守为圣日。六日要劳碌做你一切的工，但第七日是向耶和华—你的上帝当守的安息日。这一日你和你的儿女、奴仆、婢女、牲畜，以及你城里寄居的客旅，都不可做任何的工。因为六日之内，耶和华造天、地、海和其中的万物，第七日就安息了；所以耶和华赐福与安息日，定为圣日。

这样看来，另有一安息日的安息为上帝的子民保留着。

这是我和以色列人之间永远的记号，因为六日之内耶和华造天地，第七日就安息舒畅。”

你们要守安息日，以它为圣日。凡干犯这日的，必被处死；凡在这日做工的，那人必从百姓中剪除。

以色列人还在旷野的时候，发现有一个人在安息日捡柴。发现他捡柴的人把他带到摩西、亚伦以及全会众那里。他们把他收押在监里，因为还不知道要怎样惩罚他。耶和华吩咐摩西说：“这人应当处死；全会众要在营外用石头打死他。”于是全会众把他带到营外，用石头打死他，是照耶和华所吩咐摩西的。

主耶和华如此说：“内院朝东的门，在六个工作的日子必须关闭；惟有安息日和初一要敞开。

会堂的主管因为耶稣在安息日治病，就很生气，对众人说：“有六天应当做工，那六天之内可以来求医，在安息日却不可。”

六天可以收集，第七天是安息日，这一天什么也没有了。”

你们要守这日为完全安息的安息日，刻苦己心；从这月初九晚上到次日晚上，你们要守为安息日。”
