“ When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the Lord a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them.

洗鲁雅的儿子约押动手数点，当时耶和华的烈怒临到以色列人；因此，没有点完，数目也没有写在大卫王记上。

会中被数的人所出的银子，按圣所的平，有一百他连得并一千七百七十五舍客勒。凡过去归那些被数之人的，从二十岁以外，有六十万零三千五百五十人。按圣所的平，每人出银半舍客勒，就是一比加。

一个也无法赎自己的弟兄，也不能替他将赎价给神，

正如人子来，不是要受人的服侍，乃是要服侍人，并且要舍命，作多人的赎价。”

知道你们得赎，脱去你们祖宗所传流虚妄的行为，不是凭着能坏的金银等物，乃是凭着基督的宝血，如同无瑕疵、无玷污的羔羊之血。

王召了大祭司耶何耶大来，对他说：“从前耶和华的仆人摩西，为法柜的帐幕与以色列会众所定的捐项，你为何不叫利未人照这例从犹大和耶路撒冷带来作殿的费用呢？”（

或三年的饥荒；或败在你敌人面前，被敌人的刀追杀三个月；或在你国中有耶和华的刀，就是三日的瘟疫，耶和华的使者在以色列的四境施行毁灭。’现在你要想一想，我好回复那差我来的。”

耶和华又向以色列人发怒，就激动大卫，使他吩咐人去数点以色列人和犹大人。大卫就吩咐跟随他的元帅约押说：“你去走遍以色列众支派，从但直到别是巴，数点百姓，我好知道他们的数目。”约押对王说：“无论百姓多少，愿耶和华你的神再加增百倍，使我主我王亲眼得见。我主我王何必喜悦行这事呢？”但王的命令胜过约押和众军长。约押和众军长就从王面前出去，数点以色列的百姓。他们过了约旦河，在迦得谷中、城的右边亚罗珥安营，与雅谢相对，又到了基列和他停合示地，又到了但雅安，绕到西顿，来到推罗的保障，并希未人和迦南人的各城，又到犹大南方的别是巴。他们走遍全地，过了九个月零二十天，就回到耶路撒冷。约押将百姓的总数奏告于王：以色列拿刀的勇士有八十万；犹大有五十万。大卫数点百姓以后，就心中自责，祷告耶和华说：“我行这事大有罪了。耶和华啊，求你除掉仆人的罪孽，因我所行的甚是愚昧。”大卫早晨起来，耶和华的话临到先知迦得，就是大卫的先见，说：“你去告诉大卫，说耶和华如此说：‘我有三样灾，随你选择一样，我好降与你。’”于是迦得来见大卫，对他说：“你愿意国中有七年的饥荒呢？是在你敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢？现在你要揣摩思想，我好回复那差我来的。”大卫对迦得说：“我甚为难！我愿落在耶和华的手里，因为他有丰盛的怜悯。我不愿落在人的手里。”于是，耶和华降瘟疫与以色列人，自早晨到所定的时候；从但直到别是巴，民间死了七万人。

“你们要将以色列全会众，按他们的宗族，凡以色列中从二十岁以外、能出去打仗的，计算总数。”摩西和祭司以利亚撒在摩押平原与耶利哥相对的约旦河边向以色列人说：“将你们中间从二十岁以外的计算总数”；是照耶和华吩咐出埃及地的摩西和以色列人的话。

“你要按以色列全会众的家室、宗族、人名的数目计算所有的男丁。凡以色列中，从二十岁以外，能出去打仗的，你和亚伦要照他们的军队数点。每支派中必有一人作本支派的族长，帮助你们。他们的名字：属流便的，有示丢珥的儿子以利蓿；

他舍自己作万人的赎价，到了时候，这事必证明出来。

不可容忿怒触动你，使你不服责罚；也不可因赎价大就偏行。

神就给他开恩，说：‘救赎他免得下坑；我已经得了赎价。’

于是，耶和华降瘟疫与以色列人，以色列人就死了七万。

因为人子来，并不是要受人的服侍，乃是要服侍人，并且要舍命作多人的赎价。”
