Then Moses sprinkled the blood on all sides of the altar.He took the fat— the fat tail, all the fat that was on the entrails, the fatty lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with their fat— as well as the right thigh.From the basket of unleavened bread that was before the Lord he took one cake of unleavened bread, one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer, and placed them on the fat portions and the right thigh.He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and waved them before the Lord as a presentation offering.Then Moses took them from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an ordination offering for a pleasing aroma, a fire offering to the Lord.

He has brought you near, and all your fellow Levites who are with you, but you are seeking the priesthood as well.

Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may also serve Me as priests. Their anointing will serve to inaugurate a permanent priesthood for them throughout their generations.”

Afterward Moses said,“ Today you have been dedicated to the Lord, since each man went against his son and his brother. Therefore you have brought a blessing on yourselves today.”

If then, perfection came through the Levitical priesthood( for under it the people received the law), what further need was there for another priest to appear, said to be in the order of Melchizedek and not in the order of Aaron?For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must be a change of law as well.For the One these things are spoken about belonged to a different tribe. No one from it has served at the altar.Now it is evident that our Lord came from Judah, and Moses said nothing about that tribe concerning priests.

It will be a covenant of perpetual priesthood for him and his future descendants, because he was zealous for his God and made atonement for the Israelites.”

Fire also came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men who were presenting the incense.

“ Have your brother Aaron, with his sons, come to you from the Israelites to serve Me as priest— Aaron, his sons Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

For Yahweh your God has chosen him and his sons from all your tribes to stand and minister in His name from now on.

Make tunics, sashes, and headbands for Aaron’s sons to give them glory and beauty.Put these on your brother Aaron and his sons; then anoint, ordain, and consecrate them, so that they may serve Me as priests.

just as the Lord commanded him through Moses. It was to be a reminder for the Israelites that no unauthorized person outside the lineage of Aaron should approach to offer incense before the Lord and become like Korah and his followers.

Now many have become Levitical priests, since they are prevented by death from remaining in office.But because He remains forever, He holds His priesthood permanently.Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.For this is the kind of high priest we need: holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do— first for their own sins, then for those of the people. He did this once for all when He offered Himself.For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak, but the promise of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, who has been perfected forever.
