“ Make an atonement cover of pure gold— two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.

“ Make its cover out of pure gold. The cover is the place where sin will be paid for. Make it three feet nine inches long and two feet three inches wide.

“ You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.

“ Then make the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— from pure gold. It must be 45 inches long and 27 inches wide.

Make a mercy seat of pure gold, forty-five inches long and twenty-seven inches wide.

“ You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width.

And thou shalt make a mercy- seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

Make a mercy seat of pure gold, 45 inches long and 27 inches wide.

And thou shalt make a mercy seat[ of] pure gold: two cubits and a half[ shall be] the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

“ You are to make an atonement lid of pure gold; its length is to be three feet nine inches, and its width is to be two feet three inches.

He also made an atoning cover of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.

and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the atoning cover; but about these things we cannot now speak in detail.

Therefore let’s approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need.

He shall take a firepan full of coals of fire from upon the altar before the Lord and two handfuls of finely ground sweet incense, and bring it inside the veil.He shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, so that the cloud of incense may cover the atoning cover that is on the ark of the testimony, otherwise he will die.Moreover, he shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the atoning cover on the east side; also in front of the atoning cover he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.“ Then he shall slaughter the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, and bring its blood inside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the atoning cover and in front of the atoning cover.

whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in God’s merciful restraint He let the sins previously committed go unpunished;

Then he took the testimony and put it into the ark, and attached the poles to the ark, and put the atoning cover on top of the ark.

and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

You shall put the atoning cover on the ark of the testimony in the Most Holy Place.

Then David gave to his son Solomon the plan of the porch of the temple, its buildings, its storehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms, and the room for the atoning cover;
