He took the Book of the Covenant and read it aloud to the people, and they said,“ We are willing to do and obey all that the LORD has spoken.”

Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

Moses came and told the people all the LORD’s words and all the decisions. All the people answered together,“ We are willing to do all the words that the LORD has said,”and Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early in the morning he built an altar at the foot of the mountain and arranged twelve standing stones– according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

when all Israel comes to appear before the LORD your God in the place he chooses, you must read this law before them within their hearing.Gather the people– men, women, and children, as well as the resident foreigners in your villages– so they may hear and thus learn about and fear the LORD your God and carefully obey all the words of this law.Then their children, who have not known this law, will also hear about and learn to fear the LORD your God for as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

So even the first covenant was inaugurated with blood.For when Moses had spoken every command to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded you to keep.”And both the tabernacle and all the utensils of worship he likewise sprinkled with blood.Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.So it was necessary for the sketches of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves required better sacrifices than these.

I also explicitly commanded them:“ Obey me. If you do, I will be your God and you will be my people. Live exactly the way I tell you and things will go well with you.”But they did not listen to me or pay any attention to me. They followed the stubborn inclinations of their own wicked hearts. They acted worse and worse instead of better.

I call on you solemnly in the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers and sisters.

After the reading from the law and the prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent them a message, saying,“ Brothers, if you have any message of exhortation for the people, speak it.”

And after you have read this letter, have it read to the church of Laodicea. In turn, read the letter from Laodicea as well.
