“ You shall not spread a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man to be a malicious witness.

“ Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.

“ Do not spread reports that are false. Do not help a guilty person by telling lies in court.

“ You must not pass along false rumors. You must not cooperate with evil people by lying on the witness stand.

“ You must not spread a false report. Do not join the wicked to be a malicious witness.

“ You shall not give a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked person to be a malicious witness.

“ You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Thou shalt not take up a false report: put not thy hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

“ You must not give a false report. Do not make common cause with the wicked to be a malicious witness.

Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape.

Malicious witnesses rise up; they ask me of things that I do not know.

If a malicious witness arises to accuse a person of wrongdoing,then both parties to the dispute shall appear before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who are in office in those days.The judges shall inquire diligently, and if the witness is a false witness and has accused his brother falsely,then you shall do to him as he had meant to do to his brother. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.And the rest shall hear and fear, and shall never again commit any such evil among you.Your eye shall not pity. It shall be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

“ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Then they secretly instigated men who said,“ We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.”And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes, and they came upon him and seized him and brought him before the council,and they set up false witnesses who said,“ This man never ceases to speak words against this holy place and the law,

Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death,but they found none, though many false witnesses came forward. At last two came forwardand said,“ This man said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three days.’”

You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.

The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.

“‘ And you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.

a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good,

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,“ Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

And why not do evil that good may come?— as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.

“ You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.

A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.

who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

Soldiers also asked him,“ And we, what shall we do?” And he said to them,“ Do not extort money from anyone by threats or by false accusation, and be content with your wages.”

He said to him,“ Which ones?” And Jesus said,“ You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,

A false witness will perish, but the word of a man who hears will endure.

And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord,“ Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.”

And set two worthless men opposite him, and let them bring a charge against him, saying,‘ You have cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”And the men of his city, the elders and the leaders who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had sent word to them. As it was written in the letters that she had sent to them,they proclaimed a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people.And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.

He has slandered your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king is like the angel of God; do therefore what seems good to you.

What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?

And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.”So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.

An evildoer listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue.

The north wind brings forth rain, and a backbiting tongue, angry looks.

For I hear many whispering. Terror is on every side!“ Denounce him! Let us denounce him!” say all my close friends, watching for my fall.“ Perhaps he will be deceived; then we can overcome him and take our revenge on him.”

A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity.

A man who bears false witness against his neighbor is like a war club, or a sword, or a sharp arrow.

And the king said,“ And where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king,“ Behold, he remains in Jerusalem, for he said,‘ Today the house of Israel will give me back the kingdom of my father.’”

Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit.

Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips.

Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.
