“ Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness.

Unrighteous witnesses rise up; They ask me of things that I know not.

If an unrighteous witness rise up against any man to testify against him of wrong- doing,then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Jehovah, before the priests and the judges that shall be in those days;and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and have testified falsely against his brother;then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to do unto his brother: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee.And those that remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil in the midst of thee.And thine eyes shall not pity; life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and seized him, and brought him into the council,and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak words against this holy place, and the law:

and why not( as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), Let us do evil, that good may come? whose condemnation is just.

Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.

A false witness shall not be unpunished; And he that uttereth lies shall perish.

He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;

Wherefore, putting away falsehood, speak ye truth each one with his neighbor: for we are members one of another.

And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what must we do? And he said unto them, Extort from no man by violence, neither accuse any one wrongfully; and be content with your wages.

A false witness shall perish; But the man that heareth shall speak so as to endure.

An evil- doer giveth heed to wicked lips; And a liar giveth ear to a mischievous tongue.

The north wind bringeth forth rain; So doth a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.

For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

A worthless witness mocketh at justice; And the mouth of the wicked swalloweth iniquity.

A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem; for he said, To- day will the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

He that uttereth truth showeth forth righteousness; But a false witness, deceit.

Be not a witness against thy neighbor without cause; And deceive not with thy lips.

Deliver me not over unto the will of mine adversaries: For false witnesses are risen up against me, And such as breathe out cruelty.
