In all cases of illegal possession of an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any other lost property about which somebody says,‘ This is mine,’ both parties are to bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges declare guilty must pay back double to the other.

Suppose you have an ox, donkey, sheep or clothing that does not belong to you. Or you have other property lost by someone else. And suppose someone says,‘ That belongs to me.’ Then both people must bring their case to the judges. The one the judges decide is guilty must pay back twice as much to the other person.

For every breach of trust, whether it is for an ox, for a donkey, for a sheep, for a cloak, or for any kind of lost thing, of which one says,‘ This is it,’ the case of both parties shall come before God. The one whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

“ Suppose there is a dispute between two people who both claim to own a particular ox, donkey, sheep, article of clothing, or any lost property. Both parties must come before God, and the person whom God declares guilty must pay double compensation to the other.

In any case of wrongdoing involving an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or anything else lost, and someone claims,‘ That’s mine,’ the case between the two parties is to come before the judges. The one the judges condemn must repay double to his neighbor.

“你要對以色列人說：無論男女，如果犯了人所犯的任何罪，以致得罪耶和華，那人就有了罪；他（“他”直譯是“他們”）要承認自己所犯的罪，把虧負人的損失，原數賠償之外，另外加上五分之一，給予他虧負的人。

不可在窮人訴訟的事上歪曲正義。要遠離虛假的事；不可殺無辜和正義的人，因為我決不以惡人為義人。不可受賄賂，因為賄賂能使明眼人變瞎，又能歪曲義人的話。

“不可咒罵神，也不可咒詛你人民的領袖。

所偷之物，無論是牛、是驢，或是羊，如果發現在他手中仍然活著，他必須雙倍償還。

“在耶和華你的神賜給你的各城裡，你要按著各支派設立審判官和官長；他們要按著公義的判斷審判人民。不可屈枉正直，不可徇人的情面，不可收受賄賂，因為賄賂能使智慧人的眼變瞎，也能使義人的話顛倒過來。

“如果有人得罪他的鄰居被迫起誓，他來到這殿在你的祭壇前起誓的時候，

如果你們饒恕別人的過犯，你們的天父也必饒恕你們。如果你們不饒恕別人，你們的父也必不饒恕你們的過犯。

你們應當謹慎。如果你弟兄得罪你，就勸戒他；他若懊悔，就饒恕他。如果他一天七次得罪你，又七次回轉，對你說：‘我懊悔了！’你總要饒恕他。”

你們住在各城裡的同胞帶到你們面前的一切訴訟，無論是流血的事件，或是有關律法、誡命、律例和典章的訴訟，你們總要警告他們，免得他們得罪耶和華，以致耶和華的烈怒臨到你們和你們的同胞身上；你們必須這樣行，就沒有罪了。

“如果人把銀子或家中物件交給鄰舍看守，這些東西從那人的家被偷去；如果把竊賊抓到了，竊賊就要雙倍償還。如果找不到竊賊，那家主必要到審判官（“審判官”原文作“神”）那裡，查明他有沒有下手拿去鄰舍的財物。

“如果你的弟兄犯了罪﹙“犯了罪”有些抄本作“得罪你”。﹚，你趁著和他單獨在一起的時候，要去指出他的過失來。如果他肯聽，你就得著你的弟兄。

你要從人民中間選出有才能的人，就是敬畏神、忠實可信、恨惡不義之財的人，設立他們作千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長，去管理人民，使他們隨時可以審判人民的案件；所有大事件，他們要帶到你這裡來；所有小事件，他們可以自己審判。這樣，你就輕省些，他們也可以和你一同分擔此事。

如果你們各人不從心裡饒恕你的弟兄，我的天父也必這樣待你們。”
