Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom, saying:“ Your brother Israel says: You know all the travail that has happened to us;

He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah.” Selah.

Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,

They didn’t remember his hand, nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;how he set his signs in Egypt, his wonders in the field of Zoan,

“ You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea,and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is today.You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the middle of the sea on the dry land; and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.Moreover, in a pillar of cloud you led them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way in which they should go.“ You also came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,and made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them commandments, statutes, and a law, by Moses your servant,and gave them bread from the sky for their hunger, and brought water out of the rock for them for their thirst, and commanded them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

Your right hand, Yahweh, is glorious in power. Your right hand, Yahweh, dashes the enemy in pieces.

One generation will commend your works to another, and will declare your mighty acts.I will meditate on the glorious majesty of your honor, on your wondrous works.Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness.They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness.Yahweh is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.Yahweh is good to all. His tender mercies are over all his works.All your works will give thanks to you, Yahweh. Your saints will extol you.They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, and talk about your power,to make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, the glory of the majesty of his kingdom.

Come and hear, all you who fear God. I will declare what he has done for my soul.

Give thanks to Yahweh! Call on his name! Make his doings known among the peoples.Sing to him, sing praises to him! Tell of all his marvelous works.

and the children of Israel said to them,“ We wish that we had died by Yahweh’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

For how will I go up to my father, if the boy isn’t with me?— lest I see the evil that will come on my father.”

Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah.The people murmured against Moses, saying,“ What shall we drink?”

Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone, until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people you have purchased pass over.

God, you have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.Yes, even when I am old and gray- haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come.Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens; you have done great things. God, who is like you?You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles, you will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.

Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father- in- law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, how Yahweh had brought Israel out of Egypt.
