When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up— one on one side, one on the other— so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

you also helping together in prayer for us, that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the gift granted to us through many.

Also draw out the spear, And stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul,“ I am your salvation.”

Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Again He went away and prayed, and spoke the same words.And when He returned, He found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to answer Him.

Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter,“ What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying,“ O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.Then He came to His disciples and said to them,“ Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
