So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah. She said,“ You can be sure that I will kill you, just as I killed the other prophets. I’ll do it by this time tomorrow. If I don’t, may the gods punish me greatly.”

Then Ben- Hadad sent another message to Ahab. Ben- Hadad said,“ There won’t be enough dust left in Samaria to give each of my followers even a handful. If there is, may the gods punish me greatly.”

The Lord made Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, stubborn. So he chased the Israelites as they were marching out boldly.The Egyptians went after the Israelites. All Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen and troops chased them. They caught up with the Israelites as they camped by the sea. The Israelites were near Pi Hahiroth, across from Baal Zephon.
