When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said,“ What have we done? We have let the Israelites go and have lost their services!”

The king of Egypt was told that the people had escaped. Then Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them. They said,“ What have we done? We’ve let the people of Israel go! We’ve lost our slaves and all the work they used to do for us!”

When word reached the king of Egypt that the Israelites had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds.“ What have we done, letting all those Israelite slaves get away?” they asked.

方伯庶民、既立當釋僕婢毋使供役之約、皆從之、既而悔所釋之僕婢、仍使服事、故耶和華使耶利米傳命曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、昔爾祖在埃及為人服役、我導之出、與之立約、曰、如購爾同族、希百來人為僕、事爾六年、既屆七年、例當釋之、然我有言、爾祖不傾耳以聽。今爾曹悛改、行善於我前、於籲我名之室、共立盟約、釋諸同儕。厥後爾曹易其素志、瀆我聖名、所釋之僕婢、仍使供役、故耶和華曰、我有所命、爾不聽從、同儕同族、爾不縱之。則我必縱鋒刃以戮爾、縱饑饉以斃爾、縱疫癘以亡爾、散爾於列邦。

埃及人促以色列族、速出其境。僉曰、我儕將就死亡。
