耶和华在天上打雷，至高者发出声音，就有冰雹和火炭。他射出箭来，使仇敌四散；发出连串的闪电，击溃他们。

他安静，谁能定罪呢？他转脸，谁能见他呢？无论一国或一人都是如此。

所以我在他面前惊惶；我思想就惧怕他。上帝使我丧胆，全能者使我惊惶。

他们见了这城就惊奇丧胆，急忙逃跑。

他看地，地便震动；他摸山，山就冒烟。

在以色列营前行走的上帝的使者移动，走到他们后面；云也从他们的前面移动，站在他们后面。它来到埃及营和以色列营的中间：一边有云和黑暗，另一边它照亮夜晚，整夜彼此不得接近。

第二日，扫罗把百姓分为三队，在清晨换岗哨的时候入侵亚扪人的军营，击杀他们直到中午的时候。逃脱的人都分散了，甚至没有两个人同在一起。

你说：‘上帝知道什么？他岂能透过幽暗施行审判呢？

他使他们的车轮脱落，难以前行，埃及人说：“我们从以色列人面前逃跑吧！因耶和华为他们作战，攻击埃及了。”
