But when it was lifted, they set out.They camped at the Lord’s command, and they set out at the Lord’s command. They carried out the Lord’s requirement according to His command through Moses.

Meanwhile, the cloud of the Lord was over them by day when they set out from the camp.

You did not abandon them in the wilderness because of Your great compassion. During the day the pillar of cloud never turned away from them, guiding them on their journey. And during the night the pillar of fire illuminated the way they should go.

So the waters were divided,and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with the waters like a wall to them on their right and their left.The Egyptians set out in pursuit— all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen— and went into the sea after them.Then during the morning watch, the Lord looked down on the Egyptian forces from the pillar of fire and cloud, and threw them into confusion.

When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and remain at the entrance to the tent, and the Lord would speak with Moses.As all the people saw the pillar of cloud remaining at the entrance to the tent, they would stand up, then bow in worship, each one at the door of his tent.

The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.The Israelites set out whenever the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle throughout all the stages of their journey.If the cloud was not taken up, they did not set out until the day it was taken up.For the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and there was a fire inside the cloud by night, visible to the entire house of Israel throughout all the stages of their journey.

Then the Lord will create a cloud of smoke by day and a glowing flame of fire by night over the entire site of Mount Zion and over its assemblies. For there will be a canopy over all the glory,and there will be a booth for shade from heat by day, and a refuge and shelter from storm and rain.
