Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said,“ God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”

以色列人從埃及帶上來的約瑟骸骨、他們給埋葬在示劍，在雅各從前用一百塊銀錠從示劍的祖哈抹的子孫買得的那份田地；這就作了約瑟子孫的產業。

後來就遷運到敘劍，安放於亞伯拉罕在敘劍用價銀從哈抹的兒子購買過來的塋墓裏。

人民就相信；他們聽見永恆主眷顧以色列人，看見他們的困苦，就俯伏敬拜。

她的鄰里親戚聽見主向她大施憐憫，就和她一同歡喜。

以色列對約瑟說：『看吧，我快要死了，但上帝必與你們同在；必領你們回到你們列祖之地。

敬畏的心抓住了眾人，他們就將榮耀歸與上帝說：『大神言人在我們中間興起來了；上帝眷顧他的子民了。』
