They made their lives bitter by hard service with mortar and bricks and by all kinds of service in the fields. Every kind of service the Israelites were required to give was rigorous.

Though the LORD desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made, he will see descendants and enjoy long life, and the LORD’s purpose will be accomplished through him.

A little yeast makes the whole batch of dough rise!

“ You must not offer the blood of my sacrifice with bread containing yeast; the fat of my festal sacrifice must not remain until morning.

Burn a thank offering of bread made with yeast! Make a public display of your voluntary offerings! For you love to do this, you Israelites.” The sovereign LORD is speaking!

My strength drains away like water; all my bones are dislocated; my heart is like wax; it melts away inside me.

Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus began to argue with one another,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves.The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him.Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so the one who consumes me will live because of me.

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast affects the whole batch of dough?Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough– you are, in fact, without yeast. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.
