这样，你就可以把我如何严惩埃及人以及我在他们当中所行的神迹告诉你的子孙，好叫你们知道我是耶和华。”

并且要你把愚弄埃及人的事，和我在他们中间显出的神迹，都讲给你的子孙听；使你们知道我是耶和华。”

這樣，你就可以把我如何嚴懲埃及人以及我在他們當中所行的神蹟告訴你的子孫，好叫你們知道我是耶和華。」

你好將我向埃及人所作弄的事、並在他們中間所施的神迹、敘說給你兒子和孫子聽，使你們知道我乃是永恆主。』

使爾以我於伊及人間所行之事、所顯之異跡、傳於爾子爾孫、使爾知我乃主、

that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”

Then you will be able to tell your children and grandchildren how hard I was on the Egyptians. You can tell them I performed my signs among the people of Egypt. And all of you will know that I am the Lord.”

and so that you may tell your son and grandson how severely I dealt with the Egyptians and performed miraculous signs among them, and you will know that I am Yahweh.”

and in order that in the hearing of your son and your grandson you may tell how I made fools of the Egyptians and about my signs that I displayed among them, so that you may know that I am the LORD.”

and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son’s son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am Yahweh.”

Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes saw, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life; but make them known unto thy children and thy children’s children;

Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

And it shall be, when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, What work thou didst in their days, In the days of old.

Thus saith Jehovah, In this thou shalt know that I am Jehovah: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in my hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

When thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which Jehovah our God hath commanded you?then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt: and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;and Jehovah showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyes;

For he established a testimony in Jacob, And appointed a law in Israel, Which he commanded our fathers, That they should make them known to their children;That the generation to come might know them, even the children that should be born; Who should arise and tell them to their children,

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord.

and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Jehovah.

So that men shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: Verily there is a God that judgeth in the earth.

For when I had brought them into the land, which I sware to give unto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their sweet savor, and they poured out there their drink- offerings.

And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying, It is because of that which Jehovah did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt.

Yea, even when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not, Until I have declared thy strength unto the next generation, Thy might to every one that is to come.

And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovah’s passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
