摩西就向埃及伸杖。耶和華使東風在埃及境內颳了整整一天一夜，到早晨，東風帶來了蝗蟲。

So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts;

祂一聲令下，狂風大作，巨浪滔天。他們的船隻忽而被拋向半空，忽而落入深淵，他們嚇得面無人色，東倒西歪，如同醉漢，束手無策。於是，他們在患難中呼求耶和華，耶和華便拯救他們脫離困境。

祂使空中颳起東風，用大能引來南風，

門徒很驚奇，說：「祂究竟是什麼人？連風浪都聽祂的！」

太陽出來的時候，上帝颳起燥熱的東風，烈日把約拿曬得發昏，他就再次求死說：「我死了比活著還好！」

祂一發聲，就飛來無數蝗蟲和螞蚱，

然而，耶和華使海面起了狂風，滔天巨浪幾乎把船打成碎片。

火焰、冰雹、雪花、雲霞和聽祂吩咐的狂風啊，

摩西向海伸出手，耶和華便整夜用強勁的東風吹退海水，將海底變成乾地。海水分開後，

後來這株麥子上面又長了七個乾癟的穗子，它們被東風吹乾了。
