He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people.

Mordecai also gave Hathak a copy of the order. It commanded people to wipe out the Jews. The order had been sent from Susa. Mordecai told Hathak to show the order to Esther. He wanted Hathak to explain it to her. Mordecai told him to tell her to go and beg the king for mercy. Mordecai wanted her to make an appeal to the king for her people.

Mordecai also gave him a copy of the written decree issued in Susa for their destruction, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her and command her to go to the king to beg his favor and plead with him on behalf of her people.

以斯帖遵照末底改所囑咐的，沒有將籍貫宗族告訴人；以斯帖照末底改的吩咐去做，正如受他撫養的時候一樣。

這諭旨的抄本以敕令的方式在各省頒佈，通知各族，預備等候那日。信差奉王的命令急忙起行，敕令傳遍了書珊城堡。王同哈曼坐下飲酒，書珊城堡卻陷入慌亂中。

希律向推羅和西頓的人發怒。他們那一帶地方是從王的土地供應糧食的，因此就託了王的內侍大臣伯拉斯都的情，一心來求和。

我在那賜生命給萬物的神面前，並在向本丟‧彼拉多作過那美好見證的基督耶穌面前囑咐你：

以斯帖王后回答說：「王啊，我若在你眼前蒙恩，王若以為好，我所要的，是王把我的性命賜給我；我所求的，是求我的本族。因為我和我的本族被出賣了，要被剪除，殺戮，滅絕。我們若被賣為奴為婢，我就閉口不言；但我們的痛苦比起王的損失，算不得甚麼。」

我何忍見我本族的人受害？何忍見我同宗的人被滅呢？」

王的心在耶和華手中像河水，他能使它隨意流轉。

我對王說：「願王萬歲！我祖先墳墓所在的那城荒涼，城門被火焚燒，我豈能面無愁容呢？」王對我說：「你想求甚麼？」於是我向天上的神祈禱。我對王說：「王若以為好，僕人若在王面前蒙恩，求王差遣我往猶大，到我祖先墳墓所在的那城去，我好重新建造。」

王的震怒是死亡的使者，但智慧人能平息王怒。王臉上的光使人有生命，他的恩惠好像雲帶來的春雨。

至於那些今世富足的人，你要囑咐他們不要自高，也不要倚賴靠不住的錢財；要倚靠那厚賜萬物給我們享受的神。
