“ Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

“ Go. Gather together all the Jews who are in Susa. And fast for my benefit. Don’t eat or drink anything for three days. Don’t do it night or day. I and my attendants will fast just as you do. Then I’ll go to the king. I’ll do it even though it’s against the law. And if I have to die, I’ll die.”

“ Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.”

但是我不把自己的生命看为宝贵，为要跑尽我该跑的路程，完成从主耶稣所领受的服事工作，为神恩典的福音郑重地做见证。

因为凡想要保全自己生命的，将失去生命；凡为我的缘故失去自己生命的，这个人将保全生命。

因为我拣选了他，是要他吩咐他的子孙和后代家族谨守我耶和华的道路，施行公义和公正；好让我耶和华对亚伯拉罕所说的都应验在他身上。”

约拿开始进入那城，走了一天的路程，宣告说：“再过四十天，尼尼微就要覆灭了。”尼尼微人就相信神，并宣告禁食，无论尊贵的或卑微的，都披上麻布。这话语传到尼尼微王的时候，他从自己的宝座上起来，从身上脱下王袍，披上麻布，坐在灰烬中。然后他颁布谕令，说：“在尼尼微，王和大臣有令：‘无论人或牲畜，牛或羊，都不可尝什么，不可吃什么，也不可喝水。人和牲畜都当披上麻布；各人都当迫切地向神呼求，从自己邪恶的道路上、自己手里的残暴中转回。或许神会转回、施怜悯，从他猛烈的怒气中转回，使我们不致灭亡。’”

愿全能的神使你们在那人面前蒙怜悯，好让他可以把你们那个兄弟和本雅明都交还给你们。至于我，如果要丧失儿子，就丧失吧！”

到了第三天，以斯帖穿上王后袍，站在王宫的内院，面对王宫；王在王宫里坐在宝座上，面对王宫的入口。

为我的生命，他们将自己的生死置之度外。不单我感激他们，就是外邦的各教会也都感激他们。

到那日，主万军之耶和华呼吁你们哭泣哀号、剃光头发、束上麻布。

因为他为了基督的工作，几乎至死，冒了生命的危险，为要弥补你们服事我的缺乏。

他三天不能看见，不吃也不喝。

天快亮的时候，保罗劝大家用饭，说：“你们一直挨饿等候，什么都不吃，今天是第十四天了。

就是说，正如约拿在大鱼的肚子里三天三夜，人子也照样将要在地心三天三夜。

这时候保罗说：“你们为什么哭，使我心碎呢？我为了主耶稣的名，不仅被捆绑，即使死在耶路撒冷，也都预备好了。”

他冒着生命危险，击杀了那非利士人；耶和华为全以色列施行了大拯救。那时你看见了就欢喜，现在你为什么要犯罪流无辜人的血，无故杀大卫呢？”

向哥尼流说话的天使离开以后，哥尼流叫来两个家仆和常伺候他的一个敬神的士兵，
